Dr. Greenebaum fitted me with a SomnoDent sleep appliance for my sleep apnea. He provided this appliance for night wearing, and a tab to chew on first thing in the morning to re-align my bite. My bite moved and would not return to normal, so at my next visit I discussed this issue. He told me there was nothing he could do, it was my fault. I asked him if he wanted me to return in a few months after chewing on the tab longer and he said no. His chairside manner had always left a lot to be desired, but his attitude here was the last straw. I went for a second opinion and called SomnoDent and found out he was supposed to have made me two appliances, the second one returning my bite to normal to wear in the morning (not a tab to chew on). Ask Dr. Greenebaum if he is Board Certified in Sleep Apnea and if he is giving you the full SomnoDent recommended protocol before you proceed. My physician no longer recommends Dr. Greenebaum after several patients reported problems with him.
