Dr. Don Stoiber, DDS

Dr. Stoiber abandoned me because I received dental services from another provider, plain and simple. I was in a lot of pain, and the other dentist tried several times to remedy work provided. I then reached out to Dr. Stoiber TWICE but he refused to help me. Initially, I was able to make an appointment, but later that day I received a stern/rude voice message from nurse stating appointment had been cancelled. I called dentist office back and nurse was quite glib over the phone in her responses, stating Dr. Stoiber 'doesn't do second opinions.', citing reimbursement concerns (offered to pay out of pocket), essentially writing me off and not wanting me to be 'their problem', claiming I'm no longer his patient, even though I'd been going to there for over 20 years. Being a private business, there's no oversight, no supervisor/board to prevent patient abandonment, and no one to hold Dr. Stoiber accountable. Take your business elsewhere.

For as long as I can remember, I have dealt with serious dental problems. I knocked my 2 front teeth out while I was playing on the monkey bars in the 2nd grade. When I got into my teenage years, my mouth was so bad that it was a case study for dental students attending Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago. My parents weren't rich, but they always managed to put me in front of dentists who were talented as well as caring. I'm now 62 years old. I must say, without hesitation, that Dr. Stoiber and his entire staff are by far the most gifted dental professionals I've every come across. When I sit in his chair and open my mouth, not only do I trust them to do whats needed but I also know that whatever pain I do feel will be minimal. I've been a patient of Dr. Stoiber for close to 20 years now. That's a long time. So, if you by chance happen to find yourself in Dr. Stoiber's patient chair, don't worry, you're in the right place.

A month ago, I became a new patient of Dr. Stoiber's. Yesterday, I had the first dental emergency I have ever had. I went directly to Dr. Stoiber's office and explained the situation. He had a very full schedule, but agreed to look at my tooth (I was in mild pain, because I lost a gold on-lay while eating a toffee, but I had saved the on-lay.) I was seen within 20 minutes of arrival. He and his assistant quickly assessed the situation, cleaned and re-cemented the on-lay after carefully cleaning the tooth, and I was on my way 40 minutes later. I am ever so grateful for the consideration and care his team gave me just before a holiday weekend. Kudos for a job well done!
