Dr. Donald Betar, DMD

A friend recommended I take my children to Betar Dental. The entire dental team was lovely. They were so warm, patient, and professional with my very nervous kids. The hygienists were so sweet with my kids showing them how everything works. Dr. Betar was very kind and I knew my family was receiving great care. I recommend this office to anyone in the area with children.

I recently went to the Betar Dental office in Altoona and it was a great experience. Everyone was friendly. Dr. Betar knows his stuff and made the visit as quick and painless as possible. I highly recommend this location.

I have been seeing Dr Betar for my dental care for more than 20 years. I have always felt well cared for. Excellent dentist for children and adults alike.

Overall I had an excellent experience with Dr. Betar and his office. They performed many procedures over two years that cost thousands of dollars. Dr. Betar is a very talented dentist who appears well-versed in his field. Overall very competent. His staff is well trained and executes their duties professionally. Unfortunately, my wife's experience in this office differed significantly from mine. Her overall experience with the staff was not as good as mine. She did not appreciate Dr. Betar's unwillingness to discuss treatment options. This all led to them dismissing her as a patient. The dismissal was because she did not accept his treatment plan. This was very frustrating because he never took the time to discuss treatment plans or offer options. He failed to explain what and why. Because they dismissed my wife, they also dismissed me. They told me their policy states that if one family member is dismissed, the whole family gets let go. I found this to be very disappointing. I had

Horrible experience. Went to three appointments for my children and couldn’t do it anymore. This dentist (and I am particularly speaking on dr Betar- not the other staff) is the worst I’ve ever been to and specifically uncaring and not patient with children. He takes state insurance for children and many other local dentists do not so he gets a lot of business by default. He is pushy with what he wants to happen in what time frame and appears to care very little about adjusting anything to fit that specific child. The woman dentist and the dental techs were all very nice, helpful, patient, & kind. I can not get over the way dr Betar treats people.

In the past, my kids had always been scared of the dentist. However, Dr. Betar created a warm and inviting environment that made the experience less terrifying for my kids. The staff was so friendly and sweet. Dr. Betar was so kind with my kids and they felt at ease with him. I am so grateful to Dr. Betar and I will continue to take my kids to Betar Dental. I highly recommend Dr. Betar if you want a wonderful family dentist that truly cares about you!

How are these reviews saying they have been going to Dr. Betar possibly true when it says in his summary he had only been practicing for 3yrs?! He didnt even graduate from school until 1993. This is the worst dentist office I have ever taken my children to and he is nothing but a scam artist. Wish I could leave a negative star review!
