I ADVICE YOU ALL TO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. I explained to her that I was in the middle of treatment with another dentist (who I absolutely adore!) but since my insurance changed, I ended up choosing to see Dr Santos. I told her my treatment plan included 2 new crowns, and partial denture. She right away told me that my insurance doesn't cover those, and if they do, she'll only get 40% of the cost. Before I came to see her, I made sure to check with my insurance about my covered benefits, and verified that the services I need would be covered at no cost to me, maybe a copay for the visit. And so I explained that to her. She kept cutting me off, and said it's not worth her money and time to treat me. She kept on her diatribe, and eventually told me, that if I want the crowns, she won't charge my insurance, but she'll charge me X amount of money per crown and we'll forego sending a claim to my insurance. Dr. Santos was trying to bypass and sidestep my insurance to get more money.

It's been several years since my last dentist visit due lack of insurance. Thanks to Covered CA I now have dental insurance. My initial exam was for a cleaning & x-rays. The cleaning was below par. The back of my lower teeth were very rough from the plaque that had built up. Her reason was because it had been several years since my last cleaning the plaque could not be removed in a 1/2 hour visit. I ask how was this so when I could pick some of the plaque off with my finger nail.
