I had been there before for a cleaning and exam. I told him I was seeing a periodontist where I used to live due to bone loss, without doing a complete exam (examining pockets), his reply was, "at your age (63) bone loss is normal." A week later, I broke a tooth and it took several weeks for an appointment. Office was packed and after waiting quite awhile to see him, he came over to see me and said, "I'm very busy today, can you make an appointment for another day?' I walked out. That was 3 years ago and because of what he said about bone loss being normal I did not seek a periodontist till last year, only to find out I could lose 3 teeth because I haven't been getting treatments.
