Dr. James Nielsen, DDS

We have been patients for many years and have generally been happy with his services until recently. My wife was experiencing some pain with a tooth. Dr Neilson checked it and said the cantilever bridge he had previously installed was putting pressure on the teeth and loosening it causing the pain. He said the cantilever bridge needed to be replaced with a dental implant and crowns added to the two teeth the bridge was attached to. Our insurance would not cover a lot of the cost because it had only been a couple of years since the bridge was installed. I researched cantilever bridges and found out they are not a recommended procedure because of the same problems my wife was experiencing. I asked the Dr to absorb some of the costs since he should have done it correctly the first time. Initially he said he would work with us but he has not responded to my multiple requests to meet and discuss our out of pocket costs which was estimated as $2,816.48. We are retired and on a fixed income.

All offices should be run the way this office is. Very friendly staff and will go out of their way to help when needed.

WORST DENTIST EVER. I went in for a consultation on a Friday and I was told Dr. Nielsen, who was supposed to perform the procedure, would review my x-rays the following Monday and let me know if I needed a surgery consult. I was called the day before my appointment (3 WEEKS LATER) I assumed to confirm my appointment, but they instead canceled it and decided I needed a surgery referral.. something that I was promised would have been done 3 weeks earlier if necessary. Care is not something they do
