Dr. John Pak, DDS

Dr. Pak was a visiting dentist at my dentist office and I have never been treated so poorly. My daughter had not been to the dentist for some years and he came in immediately lecturing her and putting her down about her oral hygiene habits and telling us that in all of his 30 years he has never seen such a build up of calcium on a 13 year olds teeth. He then refused to give a recommendation to an orthodontist because of “her poor hygiene habits” and told us to come back in 6 months. What was interesting is my daughter has no cavities and no bone loss. I admit and admitted in the appointment that it was on me for not getting my daughter into the dentist as regularly as she should have been. But I have never been put down so much by a dentist. There is a way to say things and if you are going to be a dentist you should be able to give someone recommendations and instructions not just come in putting them down. My daughter almost cried. The hygienist immediately apologized and said she even felt uncomfortable. We were then rescheduled to come and see another dentist in 3 weeks because obviously what he was saying didn’t make sense. I asked the front desk to never schedule me with this dentist again .
