Dr. John Shanks, DDS

It’s 7 AM - morning after teeth surgery. No pain medication (although I have a bottle full here, if needed). I keep checking the areas with my tongue (don’t we all?) to ensure he even cut them out. I had SO dreaded this surgery after enduring 4 wisdom teeth cut out long ago by a different dentist far far away. Those who have had painful wisdom teeth removal….understand. This? Feels… like somehow he was non-intrusive. O.o. Wasn’t. Of course. Tongue says so. Just, please, don’t bombard him with superficial stuff that keeps those of us in dire need from scheduling him. He has found his calling, imho.

I have spent much of 2019 & 2020 in the dentist chair getting an implant, 2 crowns, & a filling. All my experiences have been pleasant ones thanks to the professionalism of Dr. Shanks & staff (Lauren, Skylar, Heidi & others. They work together as a focused & compassionate group & help the patient feel as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend the office of Dr. Johnny Shanks!

I would love to time travel and go back a few centuries BUT I would want to take my dentist. And you're looking at him. He and the Northside are simply wonderful!

My experience with Dr. Shanks was a very pleasant one. He was very professional and friendly and took his time. He asked questions about me and how I came to end up in Crossville. My dental hygenist was great as well, and gentle during the cleaning. Would highly recommend Northside to any friends/family.

I found his attitude to be distant and cold despite his sharing some details about himself. He rarely smiled, and when he did, it seemed forced. I questioned (to myself) if he was prejudiced as I am of mixed ethnic heritage and am accustomed to dealing with bigotry despite my own professional background.
