Dr. Julie Babcock, DDS

This dental practice sends out timely email reminders about appointments, etc. However, in my case, I have had terrible experiences with the front desk as they would totally ignore my email requests for appointments. My calls would be unanswered for hours or sometimes days before someone would pick it up. The only reason I had put up with this was how good Dr. Babcock is. I am no longer willing to put up with abhorrent and incompetent front desk just to see my dentist.

She left the country during pandemic and got stuck in India. When she returned, I was told by her receptionist, whom was trying to rebook my appointment, that she had been quarantined for two weeks and was told they were taking every precaution. I only accepted the procedure(I was in the middle of it) under this understanding. She told me mid-procedure that she had been in the country a week and a half and had to take a military plane to return back to the country. This is against CDC guidelines as they state two weeks of quarantine once arriving in the US before functioning in society. This is irresponsible, unprofessional, and unethical especially for a medical professional.

I do have a major concern with her recommendations. I had 4 front bottom teeth replaced with veneers that she thought would be the right way to go. I would have had full crowns on them, but she said I would be happy with the veneers. All 4 veneers have fallen off within 3 years and 2 of them have had to be re-cemented twice. One was broken. Insurance only covers veneers every 5 years. Never let her talk you into getting veneers. Now I know why she doesn't accept insurance anymore.

I cannot recommend Dr. Babcock highly enough, and I am not easy to impress. She is professional, respectful, incredibly knowledgable, and so very good with my young children when they have to come with me to appointment. Specifically, if you have jaw issues, she's the one you want to see! 99% of dentists are not enducated in how to deal with TMJ, and she has been trained to handle major problems that originate with the bite being off. I am a testament that she know she what she's doing!!
