Used, Abused and Permanently MAIMED
Biggest mistake of my Life was trusting this man with my health and my face. Palermo told me I needed root canals on all of my upper front teeth (my dentist says I did NOT). Something went horribly wrong and I left the office with the lower halves of those front teeth oddly MISSING and what was left of my teeth protruding straight forward - halved, dead and HIDEOUS like those Halloween hillbilly teeth. He refused to answer any questions and threatened to unleash his 'teams of lawyers' AND to post my personal medical information online as retaliation for a 'bad' (TRUTHFUL) review. I have seen five oral professionals since, and not a one of them has any idea how to 'fix' this mess - there isn't even enough 'tooth' left to put crowns over the nubs and, because of the extreme angle, implants are also not an option. Now I know why he refused to answer any of my email questions. I've been through a lot in this life but have never ever felt so completely VIOLATED. In PAIN & UGLY now

Excellent
Dr. explains what needs to be done, does it as painlessly as possible..of course there is some discomfort with all that equipment in your mouth but if I needed endodontic work again, that is where I'm going.

Hot & Cold Running Office Staff
This practice runs hot and cold. The front office staff is very friendly when one is poised to spend thousands of dollars on a procedure. And although Dr. Palermo encourages contact if there is a post-procedure problem, the front office staff act as intractable gatekeepers when one has a post-procedure need. Getting appointments to follow up on problems is like pulling teeth (pardon the pun), and elicits a snappy and frosty "the doctor is VERY busy" line from the receptionist or office manager (translation, he is busy with patients who have not paid yet). I have a real problem when an employee cops an attitude with me after I've spent thousands of dollars at a practice. If you enjoy that sort of thing, then by all means schedule an appointment. If not, then go elsewhere. There are other good endodontists in Santa Fe.

Excellent professional!
I have just returned from Dr. Palermo's office having completed a root canal. I have nothing but praise for the professional care offered by Dr. Palermo and his staff. His attention to informing me of the details of the process, his superb and modernized equipment, and the extreme care he took impressed me greatly. I have had to have too many root canals in my 74 years, but this was THE BEST professional experience of all time. I highly recommend.

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE, Avoid this money
my procedure should have taken 1.5 hours, but the Dr. had to REDO the procedure because it was not correct. this took 3 hours of torture. At one point I was having trouble breathing and swallowing and my jaw was in total spasm. I gestured with my hand to the assistant that i needed a paper & pen to communicate my suffering and ask how much longer I needed to hang in there. I was told "I am busy, you will have to wait". I had to ask 7 times for a paper and pen and was finally told very very rudely, "we dont have a pen & paper here. we cannot help you with jaw pain". Tomase, the assistant poked my tounge accidently with the numbing syringe. the female assistant with the snake tattoo (very unprofessional) continued to wedge my arm with her chair and bring up her "stinky" experience at the gym that AM. When i brought up these issues to the Dr. he only made excuses for his Assist and told me "It is our policy that if we have to make a patient uncomfortable, we do. $2300 for torture

What a total rip off! I took my Mom in for her scheduled 12:15pm appointment. They took her in at 1:00pm and told me it would take 1 hour and 10 minutes to do her root canal. Well, two and a half hours later she finally came out. Not only is Dr. Palermo totally disrespectful of your time, he also thinks his time is worth more than $1000.00 per hour. The bill was over $2000.00. There is no dentist on earth worth $1000.00/hr. That's just unbridled greed! Disgusting!

Ugh! Who wants to go and get a root canal? ...but Palermo was exceptionally sensitive and caring, throughout the procedure. He has excellent communication skills and provided me with options for communication, though my mouth was full of all the junk.
