These reviews are way too harsh!
Dr Hearn explained everything I needed to know, even giving me a diagram of my nerves for my wisdom teeth extraction. He gave me plenty of novocain and made sure to give me more when he got to the tooth that was deeper and a little more painful. Aside from the deep tooth, I didn’t feel a thing. He was very quick and efficient. He seemed like a bit of an awkward guy, but he was NOT rude at all like many of the reviews here say. These reviews had me scared for my appointment, but i’m really glad I didn’t choose to cancel it.

My 19 y/o daughter is 2 days out of 4 wisdom teeth extractions, and doing fabulous enough to go get pedicures and breakfast this morning! She feels slight swelling, but it’s not visually noticeable. Her pain has been wonderfully managed with the dr recommendations. Although Dr Hearn was direct, he was not unkind. He was very knowledgeable thorough, and his staff has been wonderful with my insurance questions. They reassured and comforted my daughter before and after surgery, and called to check up on her recovery, this morning.

Great Experience!
I had a great experience with Dr. Hearn. He extracted my 4 wisdom teeth and was very friendly and professional the whole time. I was under local anesthesia in which he made sure I didn’t feel any pain during the process. Each side (top and bottom) took a total of 12 minutes to extract. When I had the consultation he even drew a diagram on my x-ray to show me where the nerves were in my jaw and how the procedure would affect them. It helped me understand a lot more! He also gave his personal phone number in case of any questions or emergencies after the procedure. He may have been a little rushed but not in a rude way - just straight and to the point. He explained the aftercare and sent me on my way with a smile, and even called me the next day asking about how I was feeling/how my mouth was healing. I have had barely any pain with some ibuprofen and I’m healing up very nicely. I send my greatest thanks to Dr. Hearn for being so kind!

Great Experience
When I went in for my consultation, everyone was so nice. They did a panoramic xray to see what I needed. After that, Dr Hearn came in and gave me his opinion on it. He wasn't money hungry wanting to remove both of the 2 I had left, because he recommended leaving one that was way under the gum and horizontal/not bothering anything. I only had my impacted one removed. When I went for my appt, everyone was so awesome. I was taken back and pretty quickly, hooked up to the IV and out like a light. Before I knew it, I was waking up and it was over. He did a great job, and the office staff was so supportive. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Mouth/teeth, lip, still numb to this day. Had a simple wisdom tooth extraction, they were uncomplicated and not impacted. Rough recovery and open jaw bone on the gums for a long time after. This was years ago. And still numb to this day. A different dentist told me that something should have been done for the numbness early on to help it. ...Years after mine I had a friend who also went to the same dr. And had a very complicated recovery. ...Fast forward again. My mom went to the same dr. And her jaw was so messed up she almost ended up with a jaw bone infection. Multiple bone fragments left in her jaw. Had to go back multiple times to try to fix. Very rough recovery.

When I came to Dr Hearn my anxiety was through the roof. I had a terrible experience with a different oral surgeon that left me traumatized. I was having approx 20 teeth taken to prepare for dentures and was scheduled for sedation. When the nurse, Crystal came in, I let her know of a medical condition I had recently been diagnosed with. The Dr was uncomfortable with sedation and for the benefit of my health he wouldn't do it. Now it had to be done in sections and I had to be awake! The tears welled up! Chrystal was wonderful at keeping me calm and focused. Doc explained everything and I understood. We decided to do 1st side top on day 1 and the bottom on day 2. Waited 3 weeks and did the same to the other side. What happened was amazing. Through those 4 visits Crystal and the Doc seriously helped me get over my fears and anxiety with oral surgeons. As for Doc's bedside manner. He's all business. He was kind, thorough and to the point. That's what I want in a Doctor. Everyone was great!

I'm not really sure if some of the people who left comments themselves might have been having a bad day, but the Dr Hearn that pulled my 2 wisdom teeth was the best. Very thorough and took the time to explain post care instructions. Even gives out personal cell phone number just in case for emergencies. I am healing very nicely.

Dr. Hearn and his staff have ALWAYS been wonderful to me. I have had a few extractions and recently just had 2. He has never been rude or had " bad bedside manner" yes he is a Dr that has a job to do. Just like anyone else, he takes his job seriously, but if you have concerns or questions he WILL answer them. Dr. Hearn has been the reason i continue to go back to this office. No one likes to go to the dentist, but he does an awesome job. I much appreciate him and his staff for always making me comfortable. I would recommend Dr. Hearn to everyone i know, and I DO! Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. ( the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful as well)

My daughter just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Hearn. Following her face was swollen and she could not open her mouth. She is now in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, transferred by LaPorte Hospital, where she had surgery to place a tube in her neck to drain the infection. I am a very angry Mother.

My daughter went to Hearn to have 6 wisdom teeth removed, 6 days later she returned because of swelling and pain, he got mad because she didn’t understand that the syringe Needed to be push all the way into the socket, when he clean and put anabiotic’s , into the one that was bruised and hurting he yelled at her making her cry and was demeaning to her when telling how to clean, a week later he sent certified Letter stating he would no longer treat her , I would not use for younger peopl

I almost cancelled my appointment with Dr. Hearn because of his reviews. I needed to have a molar pulled and had waited one month for my appointment so I decided to keep the appointment. I was pleasantly surprised. My dental assistant (I believe his name was Brandon) was wonderful. Very kind and had a great sense of humor. Dr. Hearn was very friendly and was even joking around. They both made me feel very relaxed. My molar was pulled with no pain and I only used 2 Advil that night. Great job!

I nearly canceled my appointment with Dr. Hearn after reading all of the negative comments about him. I am SO SO glad I did not. He is reserved; but, not arrogant. I had an infection in the roots of a tooth which broke at the gum line. Novocaine was not numbing properly because of the infection. Dr. Hearn stopped 4 times and numbed again so that I would not be in pain. Roots from broken tooth were fused with a wisdom tooth; and, he removed the entire mess. 2 days out with very little pain.

Dr. Hearn made us feel like we were bothering him by being there. I have been to him twice to see if either one of my children needed their wisdom teeth removed. After many questions on my part, since he does not offer any type of communication at all during consultations he finally said he would have their teeth removed. Needless to say he will not be the one doing it. If he cannot communicate during a simple consult I hate to see what happens during a surgery and post op.

My mother was seen to have two teeth extracted by Dr. Hearn. Her mouth was EXTREMELY swollen (size of a baseball) and she was in terrible pain. Dr. Hearn started administering 3 numbing shots and she raised up her hand and asked him to stop because she was in terrible pain. Dr. Hearn started yelling "I'm not doing this, I'm done!!" & stormed out of the room leaving my mother hopeless and in terrible pain. I cannot believe the unprofessionalism Hearn displayed acting like a 5 year old.

This man is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Girlfriend was referred to him to have 9 teeth pulled. At counseltation didn't even examine her, wouldn't prescribe antibiotics and was rude. Set oral surgery out a month and a half, everything was set, he calls, says he cant put her under for the surgery the day before it was to happen. Everything was ready to go, insurance approved, all planned. Could have examined his patient, looked at her chart at counseltation. AVOID, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL.
