Support staff issues
My visit was derailed by the office assistant’s (Dorothy) approach. When I stated my preferred dentist was Dr Kearney, she quipped is my cleaning performed by a hygienist or dentist in their office? Clearly, she’d know the answer, right? So I asked whether it’s their practice to have the dentist visit with a new patient and review X-rays, check gums and teeth during the initial visit. There was no apology or explanation, but she quickly went on to saying she needed my name and address. When I provided my name and asked if I could confirm availability before providing too much information, she then asked for my insurance to which I replied CIGNAPPO. I also shared that I Identified Dr. Kearney from CIGNA’s website the day before. To which Dorothy responded, we have been in conversation with CIGNA because they won’t accept our rate. It was unclear if the answer today is (1) yes we do (2) not at this time. Overall unsettling especially for a PPO plan and option to pay out of pocket.
