Dr. Ron Shiver, DMD

This dentist dropped me as a patient of 15 years after I complained he wouldn't work me in after my appt was cancelled on the second day after it snowed. Noone had called to even cancel my appt on the day it was scheduled, and I drove half an hour on roads that had no snow just to find out the office was closed. Then the next day, his office did not call me to reschedule. I had to call them, and they refused to work me in even after I told them my husband was divorcing me and I would lose my dental insurance before the date of my rescheduled appt. That meant I had to pay the dentist one hundred eighty dollars vs my appt. being free under insurance. The secretary did not care. I called again today to beg the office to see me, to work me in instead of what they did, which was to reschedule me for two months down the road. She put Dr. Shiver on the phone, and he told me he would not see me anymore as a patient. Very terrible and unsympathetic and cruel man. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!!!

I drive a long way (central Florida) for Dr. Shiver's dental service. Tried others that were much closer, but always return for his service.

I'll keep this review short and to the point. I went in for a simple extraction. Was seen by Dr. Oh boy! What a mistake! The whole procedure was a hack job from start to finish. he struggled to get the tooth out...about 40 mins, Then in the process, cracked the adjoining tooth. So they ended up having to remove that tooth as well. He then took an additional 40 minutes trying to remove that tooth. He ended up breaking that tooth. At this point, I was in serious pain(tears). He then called for help to finish the mess he started. At this point I am so done with these guys, but what was I to do...I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. To say that the second dentist has a poor bedside manner would be an understatement. He rambled on about how I must have brittle teeth for it to have broken( the first Dr said the opposite). So, I'm in extreme pain at this point, looking for a way out of this fiasco. In total, a very poor experience and I would be lying, if I recommended this facility.

This office has some work to improve on. The dentist runs the show and the staff has little heads up. This office suffers from poor bedside manner, poor communication skills. He's talented, but everything else spoils his skill. Due to the lack of professionalism, my wallet got banged up. When I address the issue, he rejected me as a patient, without acknowledging my concerns.

Who likes a needle in their gum? Who can stand the vibration of a tooth being polished or worse drilled? Not me that’s for sure, but I tell you while your laying in the dentist chair head lower than your heels, Doc Shiver and his tech has a close eye on you and in reality the discomfort is really in your mind. They make it almost, almost painless. And the ladies from check-in to check-out are just great people. They seem like a close nit family and make you fill the same way.

The staff and Dr. Shiver are all kind and sweet. They all make you feel at ease.

Dr. Shiver and all of his staff are just outstanding! Dr. Shiver is really very compassionate and cares for his patients. I highly recommend his practice.
