I have gone to Dr. Smolarek for years & am happy with him and his assistants. Recently I had a severe flareup of TMJ. I happened to have a cleaning appointment scheduled. I kept the appointment to have Dr. Smolarek check my gums where the pain had started. I told the hygienist I did not believe she would be able to clean my teeth due to the pain. She numbed my gums, made small changes to avoid using cold water directly, and was able to give me a complete cleaning. I was amazed!Steve is very good with understanding insurance coverage.

I had been a loyal patient of this office for several years, cleanings every 6 months, the occasional filling, and even a root canal. Recently I've had more issues with my teeth and continued to go back and go back and go back because all of the work he had done was constantly falling apart. The same filling was redone 3 or 4 times in a 3 month period and I dont open beer bottles with my teeth or chew on rocks. The final straw was right before I went on a family vacation in August as per usual one of his fillings fell out, so I called and left a message asking to get in before I went out of country. It is now October and still never received a call back, however I did get a very large bill and on the bill it stated that all of my dental coverage had been used up for the year and i was now responsible. If you hire a plumber to fix a leaky faucet, and the next day its leaking again doesnt the plumber come back and fix it for free? Not this guy, enjoy your money Doc. I would not recommend

Don’t walk…. RUN away from this practice
I have had no cavities in my 50 plus years. Routine cleanings every 6 mo. I became suspicious as he never really examines my teeth after a cleaning. Had a routine cleaning. The hygienist forgot to clean half my teeth and when I questioned her she insisted she did. I know she didn’t because I was nervously waiting for her to do the sensitive are. Dr. Scott comes in and I mention the painful tooth and sensitivity: he says open and says oh you she a cavity that explains it. I make an appointment to have it filled. Meanwhile, I’m thinking about what happened and. Become more and more skeptical. Well, thank God I listened to that little voice. I got a second opinion. This dentist looked at the xr and said the tooth was not restorative.. I was in utter shock. She also took another xr to verify her suspicions. I asked her what would have happened if the other dentist had started drilling. She saiid he wouldn’t have been able to finish. Off to the oral surgeon I go for an extraction.Disgusted

Not good
The doctor and his staff are very nice and friendly but I would not reccomend him. First, they never return calls or messages. I would have to go in person to schedule / ask questions. The doctor did a crown that was chipped and did not fit, leaving a big gap (which food got into and caused gum irritation). When I went to have it resolved, instead of fixing it, he said my 'mouth would get used to it.' I ended up having my new dentist re-do it completely and had to pay out of pocket. My new dentist saw by x-ray that the doctor also left an unusal filling material in another tooth. When I repeatedly asked for x-rays and information from the office, no information was provided to me or sent to my new dentist.

Tomorrow I have to have oral surgery to get 2 of my molars removed. Two teeth I allowed dr. Scott to "fix" by giving me crowns. He did such a horrible job I am more forced to lose my teeth because they are behind repair. I'm 37 years old, I go to the dentist twice a year, I brush and floss everyday I do everything I can to care for my oral health and to think that I trusted this man and I have to now go through pain, anxiety, lose of molars, I'm so beyond hurt and upset. Do not trust him!
