Dr. Shilpa Kolhatkar, DDS

My experience wasn't good at all. Saw her for a dental gum infection. Instead of starting the treatment with any basic antibiotics, I was recommended a procedure costing almost 4k out of pocket. When I asked for any antibiotics, I was prescribed one for only 5 days. That antibiotics was really helping but medicine course was probably too short. On follow-up visit I was presented with a 5k treatment plan with almost 4k out of pocket. She insisted that antibiotics won't cure this infection. I managed to get antibiotics on my own thru some friends and my relative doctors for a fraction of the treatment plan they recommended. Finished 3 courses of 10 days each with a gap of about two months in between the courses and my dental gum infection was gone. Lesson learned is, do you home work before visiting her and agreeing for the treatment offered.

I have been very pleased with the treatment I have received under Dr. Kolhatkar. I have had a tooth extracted and a post implanted and have had virtually no pain or significant discomfort. She is an excellent communicator - both in explaining the upcoming procedure and in listening to and answering my questions. She even follows up after the surgery to make sure everything is going OK. I highly recommend her for anyone needing oral surgery.

Dr. Kolhatkar performed an implant and even removed a growth from the back of my throat. Very professional. Her staff is very knowledgeable and this team knows what they are doing. When I walked out of the initial consultation in Plymouth, I felt confident I had found the right Doctor. I had the surgical procedure at the Livonia office. It went smoothly. They tell you how it will all go and I can tell you; Yes , it was exactly what she said it would be. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kolhatkar!

Dr. Kolhatkar is an excellent periodontics dentist.She is very friendly and assuring during treatment and afterwords.Her office is run very professionally with prompt appointments state of the art equipment.

This office is the best place to be if you have any fear at all of dentist or needles dr kolhatkar is the best she explains every step of the way through procedure very gentle and caring to make sure I understood and took time to care for me, my hygienist was extra gentle and caring from getting my shots to the end of my deep cleaning no pain at all, the ladies in the front office help also with calls to ins and getting me in for appts I thank everyone in this office for making my visit great !

Dr Shilpa Kolhatkar is a very warm , friendly , caring doctor that puts you at ease immediately upon meeting her. She makes you feel you are her only patient as she focuses on your treatment. I have and will continue to recommend her to family and friends. I experienced no pain with my treatment I attribute that to her skill level as I have already had dental implantation with more pain and discomfort.

Dr. Kolhatkar is an excellent dentist. I am lucky to have chosen her to do my bone graft and implant surgeries. I went to see Dr. Kolhatkar since her reviews were very good. My implant required bone grafts and sinus lift. Dr. Kolhatkar is very professional, knowledgeable and caring. Before surgeries, she explained the procedures to me clearly. In the surgeries, she calmed me down and I was not nervous at all. The Surgery for a bone graft and surgery for sinus lift and implant are very successful

Dr. Kolhatkar was terrific. I was pretty nervous regarding a more extensive procedure and am a fairly nervous patient in general (for dentistry). But everything went smoothly and without pain. Both she and her staff were very detail oriented, discussed the prep, procedure and post care very clearly and were very considerate.

Dr. Kolhatkar is a true professional. Extremely knowledgeable in her field. My first visit she put me at ease very personable. I was told that i had an auto immune gum problem and needed From the biopsy to the diagnosis and plan of treatment over a matter of time, my gums have greatly improved are back normal. I would like to express my appreciation again to Dr. Kolhatkar and her assistant Miss Priscilla. Dr. Kolhatkar did me implant again for another two teeth recently. As an assistant, Miss Priscilla did a great job, too. After implanting, I keep feeling well, not so much pain or no unusual thing happened at all. I appreciate for your almost perfect implanting technology. Although implanting usually makes me nervous, fortunately in my experience with you, I enjoyed a lot with your great team!

Dr. Kolhatkar gave me an honest assessment during the initial consultation. I believe Dr. Kolhatkar is a gifted surgeon with exceptional people skills. She personally called me the day after each procedure to check on my condition. Her genuine commitment to total patient satisfaction was evident each time we met. I also found the staff friendly, courteous and professional. The office was well organized and clean. I believe Advanced Periodontics is a credit to the health care profession.

We had a great experience with Dr. Kolhatkar. My daughter and I were both at ease regarding her procedure after Dr. Kolhatkar took the time to explain everything and answered all of our questions. The day after my daughter's procedure, which was the Friday evening before Christmas, Dr. Kolhatkar personally called my daughter to see how she was doing. I couldn't be happier with her results and our experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Kolhatkar.

This was by far one of the best dental experiences I've ever had! I received my first implant, which I thought would be a very painful experience! During the procedure I didn't feel "any" pain! Dr.Kolhatkar and staff made sure that I was very comfortable! Afterwards I didn't have to take any pain pills and didn't have any complications!!! I would highly recommend Dr. Kolhatkar and staff, who were so compassionate and caring! It was a very rewarding experience!!
