Dr. Sondra Avant, DDS

I made an appointment 4 weeks ago for a root canal, I have been in pain for the past 5 weeks, my appointment was supposed to be tomorrow, I received a call today that the day before my appointment they finally got around to verify if they accepted my insurance and of course they do not. Now I have to start all over again and find a dentist that can help me. Very disappointed and they did not care about any of it.

I am thrilled Dr. Avant- did 3 root canals for me and all appear to be perfectly fixed. She is a confident and caring person. I enjoyed her staff and will recommend this Office to others in pain as I was.

I went to in for a consult to get infected root canal teeth pulled. I was assured the teeth were not only worth saving but the cost would be covered by insurance with of course a deductible. I lost both teeth within 3 months of the procedure and then was sent a bill almost 3 years later with no back up and a note for it to be paid within 30 days or collections. Office manager, was condescending as asked me if I read the paperwork

I've never felt more uncomfortable in a Dr's office than I did here. VERY rude and unprofessional behavior. Seems like the Dr. and the assistant butt heads often and in front of patients. I could go on and on about the issues I've had here but I won't. I will note, however, that it's been 5 months and counting since Dr Avant's office manager said she would call me back. Guess it's hard to keep up when she only works on Tuesdays in the evenings. No excuses for this reoccurring lack of professionalism. Would not recommend.

Dr. Avant performed my root canal. She explained everything thoroughly, was very pleasant & kind, & has an upbeat positive persona. I felt comfortable the whole time, especially with her confident approach.

At 3:15 on 08/11/20 I spoke to a nice lady asking if I would like to move my appointment to an earlier time. The phone call was 6 minutes in total. I agreed for the earlier time and expressed my concerns regarding the procedure. I have a severe anxiety/panic disorder. I asked the difference between the sedation they use and general sedation. I was told it was the same sedation oral surgeons use. I said okay. I also asked how much should I expect to pay out of pocket? After doing some calculations she said it would be about $1,000.00 on the high end. I thanked her and told her that is all that I have. After the phone call I felt a little better. My husband and I arrived on time with paperwork already completed. We waited about 15-20 minutes before I was called back. When walking back the dental assistant (whose name is Lynette if I am not mistaken) would not allow my husband to go back with me. In all my years of having to go to the dentist, Endos and Oral Surgeons this was a first for

SIMPLY THE BEST! I was referred to Sondra Avant by my dentist and was SCARED beyond words to have a root canal! She immediately put my fears to rest. She is GENTLE, KIND, COMPASSIONATE, HIGHLY SKILLED and like I said SIMPLY THE BEST! Not to mention, if you’re lucky you get to hear her sing! Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!

An amazing Endodontistl Dr. Avant is painless, honest, precise and has good patient communication! She has performed four root canals.
