Dr. Stephen McDonnell, DDS

I wouldn't go back to Dr. Stephen McDonnell even as a last resort. Dr. McDonnell was my primary dentist my entire childhood up until 18 when he worked on Smith in St. Paul ( 5 years ago for reference ). My experiences with my visits left me so traumatized I hadn't gone back in years. Appointments would take quite a long time just for a cleaning. He would start and stop multiple times being gone for long periods of time and when he's there talks endlessly, he is very rough and then blames you for making you bleed, and to be honest he was unkind as a whole. It was consistently an uncomfortable experience I dreaded. I had hoped he stopped practicing after he left the St. Paul office but now works for Park Dental in Inver Grove Heights. Oral hygiene is extremely important, my only reason in writing this review is to hopefully save someone else or their children from having these terrible experiences that I had.

He is really good and I am not scared to go the dentist when I see him. I do tell people about him and try to get them to go see him.

My family has seen Dr. McDonnell for over 30 years. He is the best! Caring, professional, personable, knowledgeable,gentle. And most importantly honest. Dr. McDonnell is a asset to the dental profession. We are so lucky that he started out working in the Shoreview area.
