Dr. Steven Hofstad, DDS

1) Scheduled procedure without getting insurance approval first and then expected me to pay for the mistake when insurance denied coverage.2) When a partial anchor tooth split and had to be removed a month after the partial was made, making the partial unusable, the doctor dropped me from dental care refusing to help remedy the problem.

I took my 7-year-old son to Dr. Hofstad as a first time patient, suspecting that my son's awful breath was due to tonsil stones. The assistant prepped my kid, after which another assistant popped in and they both talked. Only later, did I discover that the 2nd assistant was really the Hofstad, who never introduced himself or asked me about the concerns I had taken the time to write down.So then Assistant #1 relayed to me that the x-rays showed a cavity, and my son's death breath was due to a cavity, and that kids that age don't get tonsil stones.I followed up with a ONTLRG expert, who diagnosed my son with the 'worst tonsil stones she has ever seen' on the spot, then fixed it with an adenoidectomy. Needless to say, I can never recommend Hofstad to anyone. I already had the diagnosis - all he had to do was peek into my son's throat with a flashlight. Instead, he didn't speak with the parent of a new patient.....terrible.

Dr. Hofstad cares deeply about his patients, the quality of service provided and the quality of his work. Many doctors, dentists and business owners are having problems finding reliable staff members (people who actually want to work). Consequently, it's hard to provide the excellent service he and so many others have always provided. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hofstad to people. My husband and I drive from Houston to Anchorage for his services. Thank you Dr. Hofstad.

My family comes to Doctor Hofstad's office and we have always had a great experience. His staff and employees are kind and helpful, and always trying to help you in any way they can!

Ive had a great experience over the years with Dr. Hofstad. He is always very considerate and very communicative about procedures and concerns. His methods have always worked for me and I am a difficult patient. He's kind, gentle and good at what he does.

My nephew was in a bad car accident outside his dental office. He is 16 and stubbles in the office for help. His staff was wonderful and help bandages up a child in shock who was hysterical. Dr. Hofstad pulled one of them aside and yelled and them for helping. Then yelled at my nephew that he is lucky there we’re no other patients waiting. You are a vile human.... he is a child who needed help!

The staff is friendly and the office is clean, everything what I would expect from a dentists office but I find that Dr. Hofstad has poor ,he can be condescending at times and I find that he will pop his head in during standard cleanings so that he can charge an extra consult fee to your bill. The most recent consult was him telling me that my teeth haven't changed since my last visit and that I should get the dental work he already recommended. He charged me $46 for those 2 sentences.
