Dr. Timothy Schmakel, MD

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Schmakel but I have had numerous miserable experiences with one of his nurses. I will not go back if this woman comes anywhere near me. In March I had a dry socket —which can happen— but she was extremely rude on the phone when I called after my surgery and today, she shoved the X-ray apparatus into my mouth so hard that I tasted blood when she was done. I will never allow this to happen again. He’s a great doctor but she has issues, in my humble opinion.

He is kind, understanding, and amazing in his field. The one review about a tech shouldn’t be on here since it’s not about him. He helped relieve my fears and made me very comfortable. I highly recommend him. I’m extremely dental phobic so this means a lot to say he’s great!

He is one of the best doctors I've ever met. From giving me high fives as a sign of hopefulness of getting me out of pain and showing solidarity that he's right by my side, to not being afraid to TRY what others wouldn't, to genuinely caring about my well-being. I couldn't have been more lucky to find him in one of my darkest times when everyone else left me to suffer. I am grateful for him every single day. He's an independent thinker and doesn't judge you no matter what shape you're in. What I love about him is that he isn't swayed by other peoples' opinions and instead sees you for who you really are and takes you as you come, hot mess and all. He has been incredibly sensitive to treating the person and the pain. I tell my pain management doctor all the time how thankful I am for Dr. Schmakel, and he is so excited for me. He is one of those rare people who will take on a challenging case when everyone else refuses to touch it, because he sees you as a worthy human being.

We have had an excellent experience with Dr. Schmakel! Very impressed with his education as an M.D., D.D.S./oral surgeon, and he has a pharmacy degree. He is very personable and direct. You know what to expect. There was a small "emergency" and we had to contact him on his cell after hours. He was immediately available and resolved the issue. Very, very pleased.

DR Schmakel is an outstanding dentist. A staff member, however, upset my mother (who is a senior) terribly, as the woman continuously said "Jesus" numerous times, in frustration, while attempting to x-ray her teeth with a complicated machine that she stood at. My mother, a strong Christian, was offended and sad, but did not speak up to this woman, whom she said wore a ponytail and a frustrated face. I feel this was very inappropriate. The staff does represent the DR. My mother will never return.
