Dr. Madrid completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at California State University of Fullerton in Fullerton, CA. He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine in Irvine, CA. Dr. Madrid completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico, VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, and finished his fellowship in Gastroenterology from the same school. Dr. Madrid has won many awards and honors including Honors in Surgery from the University of California and the UCI College of Medicine Service Award. Dr. Madrid is a member of the Colorado Medical Society, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a Board Member of the Crohn?s and Colitis Foundation of America, Rocky Mountain Chapter. Dr. Madrid is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Rafiq completed her gastroenterology fellowship at the State University of New York in 2005. She worked at Presbyterian Medical Group as an attending gastroenterologist for four years before joining the University of New Mexico in 2009 to pursue advanced training in endoscopic ultrasound. Dr Rafiq completed her endoscopic ultrasound training in 2010. Dr. Rafiq specializes in pancreaticobiliary disease, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, barretts esophagus, radio frequency ablation, single balloon enteroscopy and video capsule endoscopy.

Dr. Patt pursued his undergraduate degree at Cornell University. He then attended The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He did his residency training at Boston Medical Center and then stayed an extra year to serve as Chief Medical Resident. He then went to Johns Hopkins Hospital to do his fellowship in gastroenterology. At Johns Hopkins Dr. Patt was awarded the Schering Plough / American Association for the Study of Liver Disease advanced hepatology fellowship, which enabled him to pursue subspecialty training in liver disease and liver transplantation. His areas of special interests include liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. He is currently on the board of the Crohn's and Colitis foundation. He has served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and is currently the Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology at Sky Ridge Medical Center.
