Growing up in the Kansas City area, I am excited to return to the region after training at some of the top centers of orthopedic education in the nation to provide excellence in the care of sports medicine knee, shoulder, and foot/ankle injuries. I am passionate about providing the same high level of care that I received as a patient/athlete during my high school and collegiate career. My primary objective as a clinician is to understand the desires of each patient regarding their respective injury/condition and hope for return to function, and to employ what I have learned to best achieve that goal.

My passion is hip and knee replacement surgery to allow patients to return to a good quality of life. I perform partial knee replacements, total knee replacements and hip replacement surgery with minimally invasive techniques including the minimally invasive (ASI-anterior supine intramuscular) direct anterior approach to the hip.

My care philosophy is to be a highly experienced hip and knee surgeon who brings valuable expertise in a patient-centered care model through scientifically validated and proven techniques. We have built an incredibly experienced and compassionate team of health care providers who want to help patients get back to or maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. As an athlete growing up, Dr. Azzam saw firsthand the impact that orthopedic surgeons have on improving their patients' quality of life. He has always loved to compete, and see orthopedics as a means to help patients triumph over injury.
