Mariano Arosemena, MD is a vascular surgeon at The Vascular Center at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center and a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Arosemena specializes in abdominal aneurysm, carotid, mesenteric, peripheral Arterial and Venous Disease. He is trained in the latest minimally invasive endovascular techniques and his areas of expertise include: Fenestrated Endovascular, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (FEVAR), Iliac branch endograft (IBE) and trans carotid artery revascularization (TCAR). Dr. Arosemena is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Eastern Vascular Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and Society for Vascular Surgery. He is board certified in vascular surgery and he is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. Dr. Nelms completed his vascular surgery training at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Nelms is the Chief of Vascular Surgery at UM BWMC, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is board certified in general and vascular surgery.

Mrs. Smith received her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in adult/gerontology primary care nurse practitioner at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She has more than 10 years of experience in cardiovascular care and joined UM Baltimore-Washington Medical Center's Vascular Center in 2017. She coordinates the outpatient management of our patients and facilitates their follow-up non-invasive surveillance. She has a particular interest in prevention, screening and education of patients and their families about peripheral arterial and venous disease. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
