I've been practicing optometry since 2009 and enjoy that no two days are the same. My practice is described as primary eye, which means I happily take care of just about any eye-related condition. I really enjoy caring for patients with complex medical conditions and backgrounds. My overall approach is to use evidence-based medicine to come up with individualized treatment plans. I am also passionate about using these guidelines to address health disparities in our community.

I have been practicing general optometry with HealthPartners since 2002. My approach to patient care is to make sure my patients have a thorough understanding of their conditions and treatment options. I welcome questions and I am always willing to take the time to explain exam findings and treatments. In addition to providing regular eye exams my other clinical interest is ocular surface disease. I was born and raised in Benson, MN - a small farming community in western Minnesota. I completed my undergraduate studies at Bemidji State University and then went on to graduate school at the University of North Dakota. My wife and our two young children enjoy all of the upper Midwest's four seasons. Since both kids play hockey winters more recently have involved driving to and from area hockey arenas. Hockey keeps me busy most of the year as I am currently the Girls Director for the Forest Lake Hockey Association.

As an optometrist, my professional goal is to provide high energy, comprehensive eye care with an empathetic mindset. I care for all ages but have spent extensive time with patients suffering from ocular diseases including macular degeneration, glaucoma and corneal disease. This passion is clear in my personal goal of fostering eye care internationally by volunteering my optometric skill set.
