Many years ago, when I was contemplating going into medicine as a career I was often asked why. My response was typically because I wanted to help others. Throughout my career, that has been my goal ultimately to help those patients seeking my care. I have found it is best to begin by treating the patient as a person, an individual. Each patient should be treated with respect. I try to provide the same high-quality care for all of my patients regardless of age, health status, or other factors.

Maureen Verbil, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant with Beacon Internal Medicine in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Ms. Verbil earned her MPS in Physician Assistant from Mercy College in Westchester, New York, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Queens College in Flushing, New York. Ms. Verbil is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and has over 20 years of experience in healthcare. She provides comprehensive primary care services, including routine physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and chronic disease management. Ms. Verbil has extensive experience in specialties including gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, vascular surgery, cardiology, as well as allergy and immunology. She is currently working on her certification in Functional Medicine with The Institute for Functional Medicine. Outside of work, Ms. Verbil enjoys watching and participating in sports, reading about history, and hanging out with family and friends.

Internal medicine allows me to have extensive hospital training with a focus strictly on adult medicine, which is my preference. My special area of interest leans towards diagnosis and treatment of acute and sub acute illnesses. I am committed to providing all patients with comprehensive and quality healthcare in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a focus on effective communication and patient education.

Dr. Whipple has a specific interest in the primary care of cancer survivors, as well as patients with active cancer. Much of her research focuses on the relationship between cancer and the treatment of chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, and anxiety.
