Dr. Joseph Bernardini is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon practicing in his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey for over 30 years. He is a graduate of St. Augustine Preparatory School and Villanova University. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. His orthopedic residency was completed at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Bernardini has been the Director of Orthopedics at the Vineland Development Center since 1979 and serves as the Vineland High School team physician. He is well versed in Orthopedic Spine Surgery and one the first physicians in the area with special training for Kyphoplasty, a minimally invasive technique used to treat spinal compression fractures. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and specializes in knee ligament (ACL) reconstructions, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repairs, and hip arthroscopy. As Director of the Hip Arthroscopy program at Rothman Institute, Dr. Salvo serves as one of the region’s leaders in hip arthroscopy, particularly in athletes. He is an assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Flyers and a consultant for the Philadelphia Phillies. Dr. Ashley J. Bassett is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialized training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee.She is a team physician for USA Gymnastics and currently serves as the director of the Women&rsquos Sports Medicine Center at the Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey. She also served on the medical staff for several running events, including the Philadelphia Marathon. In addition to traveling with USA Gymnastics, Dr. Bassett is also the head team physician for Sussex County Community College and provides sideline medical coverage formany local high schools across Sussex and Morris Counties. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presentations and book chapters on the diagnosis and management of sports-related injuries.
