Hello! My name is Allison and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 10 years of experience. I completed my education at Kent State University then completed a Master of Arts from Ursuline College focusing on Art Therapy and Counseling. Art, creativity, and personal expression play a large role in my life and I enjoy working with clients to help them find creative and personalized solutions to address their concerns. I use an eclectic approach pulling from cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, psycho-dynamic, client focused, and solution focused therapies to help my clients find the approaches that work for them. My counseling style is warm, caring, and collaborative, and I enjoy sharing resources, tools, and techniques with each client to aid them in addressing their concerns. I have experience in helping clients with depression, stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I am an independently licensed therapist in Ohio who has been an active social worker since 1995 and have focused on providing individual adult therapy since 2011. The majority of my clients have been dealing with depression, anxiety, or functioning well in life issues including relationship issues often with co-occurring substance abuse issues. I've worked with couples on relationship issues both together and separately. I've had specialized treatment training using cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, and trauma treatment methods. I have worked well with the psychiatrists I have been associated with. I believe in coming up with a good plan then doing what works. I am a good listener. I believe in helping people believe in themselves, build on their strengths, and not to worry about what others are thinking about them.
