It was during the first year, with the mentorship of an incredible partner, that I discovered my passion for breast cancer care. With his mentorship, I have developed my practice to provide the best surgical care, but to also treat the person and family as they go through their journey. \n After practicing in Virginia for eight years, I wanted to return home to South Carolina and my family. \n In my short time here, I have worked to build our clinic with that same focus on breast care and breast cancer surgery and treatment. Cary Fishburne, Jr., MD is a double board-certified urogynecologist with over 20 years of experience specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his medical degree at The University of Virginia. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship at the University of Vermont, and subsequent residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Fishburne served in the Navy and developed in the sub-specialty of urogynecology with a fellowship equivalent experience at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He serves nationally as faculty teaching surgeon and lecturer for sacral neuromodulation implants (Interstim - Medtronic), and as clinical faculty in the subspecialty of urogynecology for resident physicians and medical students.
