She has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include preeclampsia, preterm labor, and perinatal mood disorders. Dr. Patel then earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.Dr. Patel assumed several leadership roles during residency, including serving as the patient safety and quality improvement chief and as a resident representative on the RN/Resident Council. She was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society as a medical student and received the prestigious UT Dell Medical School Women's Health Humanism Award in residency.Dr. Patel believes she serves her patients best by learning new skills and information.
