Robyn Hakanson, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Salem, Virginia.Dr. Hakanson graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. She completed a one-year internship and a four-year orthopedic surgery residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a one-year adult reconstruction and sports medicine fellowship at Insall Scott Kelly Institute in New York, New York.As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Hakanson specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacements (hip, knee, and shoulder), partial knee replacement, arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, knee ligament reconstruction, autologous chondrocyte implantation, rotator cuff repair, fracture repair, and joint injections. She is board-certified by the America Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active Fellow with the American Associate of Hip and Knee Surgeons.Dr. Hakanson has more than 30 years experience in sports medicine.
