I’ve been going here for 4 years. My Dr (Rui Cheng) is wonderful but the office staff should all be fired. After going here for 4 years, I was told upon arrival today that they didn’t have a credit card on file. I explained that my insurance pays 100% and explained to them that I’ve been coming there for 4 years and this was never an issue. They told me that I can’t see the doctor unless they have a credit card on file. They tried to tell me that the credit card on file was expired and that overlooked for the past 4 years and I was told to leave. Because I continued to argue with them they told my Dr and the Dr had no issue seeing me so she did. But the front office technically tried to deny me medical care for skin cancer which is against the law. I do plan on making a formal complaint with the higher ups along with the state.

Negligent Practice
Very disappointed in Central Connecticut Dermatology and Bruce Strober. They prescribed a steroid cream to my daughter for long term use without telling us that stretch marks are a known side effect if used for long periods of time. They have been no help in determining the next course of treatment.

No way
They told me the same - either give them a credit card to keep on file, or $100 to keep. A person would have to be crazy to agree to either of those terms.

Awfull
Terrible. More of the same reviews. They want $100 upfront and to keep a credit card on file. I am fully insured!!! None of my other healthcare providers require this. The place is a crappy little ringy dingy joint in a strip mall in Cromwell. They have 5 women stacked up in the front office which is 10 x 10. Terrible, terrible, terrible. STAY AWAY!!!

Both my mother and I had horrible experience there. I was not told in advance of the need to have a credit card or $100 cash on file. I was told at that visit that they do not generate bills. Saw the doctor a couple of times. He dismissed my concerns as minor and prescribed an ointment, made no further recommendations. Getting the office to complete the prior authorization for the prescription took multiple calls. My mother was kicked out of the practice because she declined to switch to an expensive injection when the generic medication she’d been taking for years worked. She asked several times for an explanation for the recommendation and didn’t get one. She was also switched to 3 different doctors in the practice in 6 months, the last of which didn’t actually see her - only told her she had to accept the prescription for the injection or leave the practice. Rude, unprofessional, no bedside manner.

Total zero in customer service and HIPPA!!
I never write reviews but today I will. I went for a check for melanoma and would have been a new patient. I was referred by my GP. I was not informed that I needed to have a credit card or $100.00 deposit. I was told this in a very loud and shaming way after I completed 4 pages of medical history, I knew that I could call my husband for the credit card but as I stood there learning that I would need to wait another 6 months for a check on 2 suspicious moles, I decided to walk out. I told them that I couldn’t trust their ability to manage my care. By the way, I had plenty of insurance to cover this visit.

I wish there was a zero rating. The office is VERY unprofessional and only cares about money. The office staff will loudly announce HIPAA information, money is the main goal and honestly, there are way too many negative reviews talking about the same things for the doctors not to be okay with these practices. Save yourself (and your credit card) the trouble! One piece of advice: STAY AWAY!

Upsetting experience at this practice today. The ofc staff when making my appt failed to tell me that it is the policy of the Drs in the ofc not to see a patient unless they have left a $100 deposit or a credit card on file. I had neither with me so I was told I could not see the Dr. even though it was the staff’s mistake, I thought their inflexibility to accommodate me did not speak well to what kind of a practice this was. None of my other Drs offices have ever asked for anything like this & although I said I could subsequently provide the CC#, their position was unchanged, I left the ofc unseen. Apparently this practice’s priority is only money. I had already paid my co-pay & the ofc knew I had Medicare, but that did not change the ofc manager’s approach, her answer was no exceptions. I’ll find another practice that is more reasonable, flexible & accommodating.
