Disappointed After Super Costly Service

I hesitated writing this review as I've been a customer for about 5 years and my experience was always good, up until until a few months ago. However, things have changed. I ordered new retainers, which initially cost me $550. Recently, I received a bill for an additional $460, as insurance won't cover it. Upon contacting insurance, I learned that retainers made after turning 19 aren't covered, and I'm responsible for the full cost. Knowing this beforehand would have prevented me from agreeing to pay $1,000 for plastic pieces. Considering this office has made retainers in the past, I expected them to inform me upfront about such costs. I'm extremely disappointed and as a result, they've lost a customer.
