Patient Support is Horrible
Office staff spends more time talking amongst themselves than maybe helping others that could be calling in. They say they will do follow-up scheduling but that doesn't happen. For over the last 2 years I have had to call in (if I can get ahold of someone) to schedule needed testing that are to be done every six months. I don't know who is running this office but they need to do some serious reflection on who they have and how things are being done! There's got to be a better office out there that really cares and takes care of the patient needs.

Poor Communication and Zero Follow
I thought as a long time patient at Grand River Gastro I needed to say a few words about this practice. Historically it has been excellent and now I have no option, but to move on. Leaving a message with an automated response to call me back in 24-48 hours is not acceptable to me. After those 48 hours have passed, still no call back. Nothing screams we are short staffed more than days long lead times just to pick up the phone. I appreciate the many years of excellent care, but now it seems that patient care has left the practice. I can no longer recommend Grand River Gastroenterology because I have lost confidence in their ability to respond with any sense of urgency.

Great Office!
The staff was very nice when I called to schedule my appointment! The provider's that I have seen were all very caring and considerate of my concerns. I would definitely recommend this office!

Doctors are great, but office staff is terrible!
Saw Dr. Stewart, she is great and so is Jyl NP who ordered a CT Scan. Unfortunately I've called several times leaving messages for nurses and OFFICE MANAGER both saying I needed a follow up appointment after an ER visit and 3 weeks later still have heard nothing. My primary care doctor said her office is no longer doing referrals to this office for the same reason. SOMETHING needs to be done with office staff, at least return calls. I'm not looking for a new doctor since I still have ongoing issues that need addressing.

Completely disorganized, lost my appointments
I’ve been dropped multiple times from their office. Impossible to get any kind of continuity of care. Completely unprofessional.

Told my proceder was covered by them and insurance Co. The office did not tell me they were going to send it thru as diagnostic. The nurses and doctors are good. The person in charge of billing is not easy to work with, one track mind.

It was very very hard to get in contact with this office. I left voicemails and voicemails and it would take 3+ days to get back to me. I understand if I left voicemails for non-urgent things, but I had a serious health problem arise after taking a medicine prescribed by them and I had to call three separate times just to get an answer! Long story short, I ended up having to go to my primary care Dr. to figure out what was happening for an issue that was from the GR Gastro doctor. I don't want to put her or her team on blast, but I found it horribly rude and disrespectful to not take care and treat her patients on a timely matter. I was told "It's not like her to get back right away" by her nurse. I told her nurse how unhappy I was with their service, expecting to get a call back from the Dr. herself, but I never did. Very unprofessional. Also, when given new meds and operations and what not, I always had to ask for information, it was NEVER provided to me.
