My husband and I have visited this office several times, but recently had an issue with billing. I had a swab test for COVID-19 by Dr. Ramsaroop while I was 18 weeks pregnant. The CPT code was not covered. I eventually filed an appeal through my insurance, which was denied. My insurance requested their office re-submit the claim under a different CPT code. When I gave them this option, I was told through the receptionist, by someone named “Sejal,” that there was nothing they can do further and that I was responsible for a $1,000 bill for a swab test, which you can get done at a local pharmacy at no cost. They eventually resubmitted the claim with a different diagnosis code, but using the same CPT code, which was again denied by my insurance. Northeast Primary Care has no proper etiquette to tell you things directly and will have their receptionists convey their messages to you. I was NOT told at the time of my visit to check with my insurance on whether this test was covered.
