(I transferred care at 28 weeks) On my first visit, I was first rushed through my vitals, bloodwork, and brief time with the physician by the staff and doctor. At the end of my appointment, I was told to sit in a random treatment room, door shut, waiting for follow-up materials for at least 30 minutes only to have a rude staff member that I had not interacted with ask me why I was in there. There are clear communication issues between the staff and physicians, and even though my appointment was around 3pm I was rushed through it as if I were the last patient of the day. Dr. Mendelowitz had such a cold bedside manner that I did not feel comfortable asking any questions. To make matters worse, when I later decided to switch my care to another group of OB-GYNs, the medical records release process has been so bad that I have had to call 3X in 2 weeks after sending my release form only to find out that my records have still not been sent. AVOID THIS OB-GYN GROUP AT ALL COSTS.

I found out I was pregnant July 2020 during the pandemic. While my husband wasn’t allowed to come to appointments, they did everything to put me at ease. Dr. Teixeira was my original OBGYN but once you get pregnant they encourage you to see everyone cause any of them may be there delivery day. I met 8/10 doctors during my prenatal appointments and they were all wonderful, informative. The office staff was friendly and helpful- and I just knew I would be taken care of. When I was at 41 weeks with no baby we scheduled for induction. I saw many of the friendly face at Phelps I’d met over the last 9 months and Dr Spriyda was there to help me give birth. My whole experience with the practice and giving birth I felt so taken care of, and with any questions or concerns the doctors were responsive. If you are pregnant and looking for a good team of doctors and place to give birth- this is it.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I would hate to give them one star because I really loved my doctors there, but Northwell has this revolving door problem where they cant keep their doctors in one office for too long. Having to change my GYN for the third time now in three years is just insane to me and its also unfair and just really inexplicable to me. I would get very comfortable with the doctor and then they would tell me that the doctor was leaving the practice last minute. Its sad. And to top it off the waiting time to see the doctor can be an eternity. They need to do better. They don’t take patients time into consideration and they also don’t take patients feelings into consideration. It’s clearly a problem when they can’t keep their physicians and staff happy long enough so that they stay in practice for more than a year.
