So my husband is or was a patient . He does not have insurance because on a teachers salary he can afford to pay the insurance costs. They requested he have some lab work done. He told them he would need to wait until he got paid again because the lab work is $165. He called the office because he received a letter they are dropping him as a patient. When he explained he didn’t have money until Monday he was told there are other doctors out there and he needs to find one. How do you treat a patient like that? As a doctor you should be a little more empathetic towards patients. He didn’t intend to not get labs done but if a person doesn’t have the money they don’t have it. It’s disgusting that a patient with financial difficulties could be treated that way but I see the might dollar is more important.
