Dr. Aakash Verma, MD

Saw him (virtually) during the pandemic and he seemed ok but I was going through my old meds drawer and noticed he had prescribed a drug for schizophrenia and bipolar disorders neither of which I have or have ever had!!! To my horror! I wasn’t ever told what this was for or I’d refused. This is blatantly irresponsible to say the least.

Dr. Verma is an intelligent, personable doctor who has done a great job at treating patients.

I've been seeing Dr. Verma for several years now and he is an important and trusted part of my care team. He listens to me, involves me in my treatment planning - allowing me to be fully present for my health journey. He doesn't talk down to me, is knowledgeable about my health history, and respects my lived experiences and knowledge of myself. Dr. Verma works hard to balance my medications with my symptoms, therapy, and lifestyle. He doesn't force medications on me, and he doesn't make changes unless I'm comfortable with it.

This Doctor isn’t about listening to his Patients. He makes his decision without the full story or what his decision affects the patients state of mind. He lies to his patients tells them what they want to hear then makes the opposite decision of what he said. He also takes advantage of his power and mentally abuse his patients by making them feel powerless and scared. This doctor shouldn’t be practicing at a hospital that does take care of their Patients. He turns the hospital into a Prison and holds Patients that is already having a hard time in life and makes it worse He should and needs to be investigated!

Dr. Verma is very compassionate, professional, caring, kind, easy to talk to, listens very well, cares very much what the patient thinks, feels, agrees with in terms of his professional opinions and advice, and more. I highly recommend Dr. Verma as a psychiatrist. I have been seeing him for over a year now. I have never been disappointed with our visits. He allows ample time for me to discuss my issues, both behavioral and medicinal. He is extremely knowledgeable and observant. I cannot praise him enough. He, along with my psychologist, have helped me/are helping me overcome many obstacles including: depression due to divorce, insomnia, anxiety, negative thinking, PTSD, and more. I will say that Dr. Verma is quite busy and it is not always easy to get an appointment very quickly. I have had to wait a month or longer, which personally I do not mind, as I am quite busy and live and work far.
