I lack confidence. More so in Riverside than Dr. Beri. He's very personable, but I wanted a 2nd opinion. Mostly due to issues that had nothing to do with Dr. Beri and everything to do with Riverside. He's wanted to do an implanted loop recorder for years. I've had a lot of issues over the years and am hesitant about implants. I did well with a Zio-Patch Holter Monitor. The Holter Monitor I tried at Riverside caused welts and I was only able to wear it 5 days. All the people in cardiology are great. I ended up at Northwestern, mostly because of a distrust of Riverside for a few reasons. One of which was being inpatient for 4 days. Being treated for muscle spasms when I had 5 broken ribs 4 of which Stevie Wonder could have seen on the xrays. They never looked at the pictures they ordered. I was properly diagnosed by another Dr In about 15 seconds. He put a hand on each side, said, take a breath, then, you definitely have broken ribs, I can feel them move.

I would be heartbroken (no pun intended) if Dr. Beri were to leave the area. He has been my cardiologist for two years and has always been professional, thorough and very attentive to my health. During a recent ablation, Dr. Beri went what I consider above and beyond! Instead of leaving my situation to the very capable nurses in the cardiac recovery room, he came in to assist several times. He remembers thing without looking at my chart. Dr. Beri is truly an asset to our community.

The reason for writing this review is it seems Dr. Beri stays very up to date on emerging studies within his field. He diagnosed a fault in my EKG which would "academically" be fine, but illustrates a predisposition to electrical faults within the heart. It's very refreshing to consult with a doctor who stays up to date with research, and looks more deeply into conditions as a result.

The Dr. could not have been any less involved with the patient. If it wasn't on the computer screen it didn't matter, he never touched the patient, listened to his heart, answered any questions even when directly questioned. He is very unprofessional, unfeeling, and gives off an air of superiority that you could cut with a knife. Would not recommend him EVER!
