Dropped Me After 15 Years
*Amended Review* - Dr. Matin’s staff remain excellent. I had an unbelievable experience w/Dr. Matin after 15 yrs. of being his patient. Dr. Matin doesn’t feel the need to see his patients more than once a yr. (my experience). During the remaining 11 months of the yr., I was regularly seeing another Dr., who happened to also be a Sleep Specialist. He commented on how sleepy I was, despite my current treatment w/Dr. Matin & ADDED a new medication to help me stay more alert. When Dr. Matin was made aware of this, he discharged me w/o question. Period. He refused to speak w/or see me again after being a loyal patient for 15 yrs. What a shame & a missed opportunity for him to be an actual physician & educate his patient on the medications I was on, along with any concerns he had. This was also a missed opportunity to collaborate w/another Dr. in his field who had been seeing me monthly, between my annual visit w/Dr. Matin. Shame on him for assuming the worst & refusing an honest patient.

Doctor's exam was incredibly lacking. Extent of exam was using a tongue depressor to look in my throat and asking me if I was sleeping well. This was not done in an exam room, but at his desk, in this office. Perhaps I have been spoiled in the past, but this was very surprising. I told my primary care physician that I would not return to this office. Unfortunately my health insurance offers no other options. Thank goodness for 1/1/2016 and a new insurance carrier. Find a FAASM sleep doc!
