Fabulous Outcome
I had an lateral epicondylitis debridement and repair with Dr. Bakker. After one year of trying to rehab this injury conservatively with physical therapy, I turned to Dr. Bakker at Twin Cities Orthopedics for a solution. Dr. Bakker performed the surgery and at 3 months post surgery, I’m so happy I did this. I have no pain and thanks to Laura, my physical therapist, I’m getting stronger every day. Dr. Bakker is a meticulous, kind and smart surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Bakker at TCO.

Highly Recommend
I cannot express enough gratitude to Dr. Bakker and his care team. Throughout the process the team had kept me informed and worked with my schedule (and my terrible memory) to ensure that appointments worked out. Dr. Bakker was able to solve a 12 year old injury with a surgery that without exaggeration has been life changing. I had very limited motion for over 12 years and now have almost full motion of my right (dominant) hand and arm. I am so thankful and grateful for this. I would recommended TCO for their incredible staff - everyone physical therapists, receptions, doctors, surgeons, radiologists and the care teams behind each doctor - for providing me with the best service in the Midwest and quite literally changing my daily life for the better.

good experience @ 4 1/2 wks out of surgery
Got into see him pretty quick after an ER visit because of a broken wrist He recommended surgery after looking at x-rays and had it scheduled within a couple of days. Had a plan when I left surgery for after care and hand therapy. His staff was great. They worked through things in a very quick manner, but I found that if I asked questions they took the time to answer. Dr Bakker worked quickly as well, but again, when I asked him questions he took a moment and answered them. Once, even sitting back down to have a discussion. So,.. he was very quick in his appointments, as some others mentioned, and if you aren't ready for that it might just be done before you know it. :( Though I always had a phone# to call for questions if needed. Because I know that as soon as I leave an appointment I think of something I want to ask. lol

Dr Bakker performed four surgeries on my hand during one episode, from the beginning of my surgery to the end I experienced no pain. I followed all of the instructions and OT rehabilitation and the outcome is a very good functioning hand! I highly recommend Dr. Bakker as an extremely qualified orthopedic surgeon, with good skills regarding patient communication. In addition his staff assistant Stacy is exceptional.

He’s the best in the business. I was recommended by medical professionals to Dr. Bakker. He is very knowledgeable and good at what he does. My surgery went really well and he set up a care plan that had me back ahead of schedule. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Adam Bakker seemed to be a very busy individual upon my appointment which I can only assume it is due to his credibility and reputation. Maybe his busyness during my appointment was the cause of his brisk briefness with the decision on my broken scaphoid bone in my right wrist. He suggested surgery right a week from the appointment since it is the most predictable route to proceed with the type of fracture, which is fair. To me, it seemed he was only willing to proceed with surgery rather than alternative options. He was very respectful, but I wish he was more thorough and detailed with his statements to ensure his patients are comfortable and have come to terms with them. I was left with many questions and concerns after my appointment with him. Furthermore, I waited a little over a month to be able to receive a second and third opinion on the route I should go and found out that my broken scaphoid bone as healed enough to the point where a splint is no longer needed. No surgery.

Dr Bakker repaired a very bad, compound break of my thumb. My recovery continues, but I have more mobility and strength in my thumb and hand than I expected. Dr Bakker was extremely professional and informative during the whole process. If I ever need orthopedic surgery again I would not hesitate to have him do the work.

I really like Dr. Bakker. He has a very calm demeanor and seems to really listen to my complaints. In addition to listening to me tell about my symptoms, I appreciate that he also spends a lot of time actually physically examining my arm at each visit to see the issue for himself, which my last orthopedic didn't really do (I switched orthopedics because I moved out of state, not because I had any real issue with the previous one). I was honestly a little skeptical of him at first because he has almost no bad reviews anywhere on the internet, but I have been happy with him as a doctor. The one negative is that he's always running behind in the office. He was right on time for surgery, but my office visits are generally around 30-45 minutes late. This isn't a huge issue for me because I have learned to bring some work with me for the waiting room, and I don't schedule appointments right before important meetings, but it is something to consider when scheduling.

I needed Dr Bakker for a second opinion on two failed thumb surgeries. I am highly satisfied with the new patient process and I was never worried about his decisions because I researched him prior to my visits. I would recommend Dr Bakker to anyone who isn’t sure about who to choose because you will find a quiet yet highly talented man who will care for you like family.

Dr. Bakker was able to successfully remove my tumor hidden in my shoulder. I've had extreme pain on and off for two decades and we weren't sure it could be successfully removed. Well it was and from the beginning of the check in process to the end of the discharge everything was so smooth and nice. Lindsey was the nurse who inserted the hand IV and did the best job I've experienced. Usually my hand ends up being poked and prodded a few times and it turns out swollen and bruised, but Lindsey inserted the hand IV seamlessly with little to no discomfort. Thank you for all your hard work and for changing my life for the better forever!
