Dr Berg is very easy to talk to and makes sure to take time with his patients. He has always been quick to answer any questions or concerns I might have. I recently had a colonoscopy and everything went smoothly. He’s been thorough in making sure to rule out certain GI conditions and made sure to follow through with prescribing a medication to help manage my GI issues.

Misleader
First colonoscopy was fine. 5 years later I was duped and told I would be fine with the drug they were giving me. I was told I would not feel like I did the first time but it would be fine. I was awake the entire time, in extreme pain and told him I was. I left feeling drunk and threw up all day and slept on and off. Come to find out they gave me fentanyl. I am friends with many doctors and anesthesiologists. I was told that he most likely did not tell me they were not giving me anesthesia because an anesthesiologist was not available and he could administer fentanyl on his own. So awful and so wrong. Do not see this guy!

Excellent care
Dr. Berg performed a colonoscopy and endoscopy with professionalism, and care. He was thoughtful and thorough in his approach to an otherwise uncomfortable experience. The rest of his team was also wonderful. CNY Anesthesiologists and Hamilton Community Hospital nurses.

Excellent
I was suddenly hit hard with a malfunctioning liver, my Primary Care Provider had difficulties diagnosing the cause and referred me to Dr, Berg. The care I received from the Dr. and his staff was excellent and I have since recovered. I highly recommend the Dr. and his group.

Afraid to treat you
Passes the buck because he is afraid to treat you unless it is for a minor problem. And waits to long to address your major issues.

Dr. Berg was thorough in ruling out possible causes for my issue, including less common ones. However, he was incredibly dismissive of me when a clear answer was not forthcoming. He reviewed test results and said, "There's nothing wrong with you." Unfortunately that wasn't true so I told him so. Without turning around to make eye contact, he threw out a random recommendation for over-the-counter care but wouldn't bother to explain why I should. I'm with another GI now.

Dr. Berg was not only disrespectful and dismissive, but he did not care to find the cause of the my issues. Do not use him for a colonoscopy or endoscopy. I am now receiving care at Massachusetts General #3 for gastroenterology in the country. They have discredited his colonoscopy and endoscopy since he did not take enough biopsies to properly diagnose and did not bother to complete the test into the smallest area of the ileum. I had to do it all again.
