Excellent Physician
I recently saw Dr. Klein for a check up on my total knee replacement that was done five years ago. His exam was thorough and he always takes the time to answer my numerous questions regarding the types of physical activities that I am involved in. He took the time to show me my knee x-ray and answered my questions regarding arthritis in the other knee. He also reminded me to remain vigilant in terms of looking out for a knee infection that could occur from things such as an abscessed tooth. Dr. Klein also encouraged me to remain physically active and was happy with the way that my knee is functioning. The surgery has been a life changer for me as it corrected my leg length difference. I highly recommend Dr. Klein.

Dr. Klein has been seeing my soon to be 88 year old Mom for a hip replaced by someone else years ago. He is always glad to see her and she, him. He is very caring, personable, shows tremendous respect and never talks down to her. His manner is straightforward. He answers all questions clearly and isn't arrogant. It's really apparent that he cares about his patients.

Great Dr
I had my hip revision then 8 weeks later a total knee by Dr Klein. He thought waiting months was awful but WV is a medically underserved area. I waited for him to do it and so glad I did. He was available for questions and concerns weekends and holidays. Everything went smoothly.

I would never recommend Dr. Klein to anyone. He feels threatened when you ask any questions about your health plan. Basic questions that should already have been addressed by him prior to surgery. As he said ' im the surgeon, if you dont like it go get another one'. He is arrogant, doesnt listen to address any concern, cuts people off when talking. Bedside manner is horrific

My hip replacement doctor
Dr Kline performed my hip replacement in 2018. He was great to work with from the initial X-rays to follow up visits. My recovery was rapid. I was able to participate in vigorous activities such as XC skiing within months of my surgery. I have had no issues with the hip at all.

Find another doctor
Dr. Kline told me to find another surgeon when I questioned the use of an antibiotic which I am VERY allergic. He is arrogant, rushes the patient, and doesn’t listen. Wait times are years to go to surgery— I feel like I dodged a bullet but wait times at WVU are 6-8 mos to get a new referral and then over a year to surgery!

Apathetic and Not Thorough
My amazing physician left the practice and guess who had the first available appointment? Dr. Klein had his PA, Nathan do my initial consult, then entered the room without even reading my chart! I had had an MRI done that had been ordered by my previous physician (IN THE SAME OFFICE). He scolded in his PA right in front of me for not “telling him that she had an MRI.” Klein only looked at the X-Rays to make up his egotistical mind that I was “too young” for a total knee replacement. Of course we all know that MRIs show much more detailed information… mine showed that I had a torn meniscus as well severe OA.Prior to seeing him, I had spent the year of 2022 getting a series of cortisone & gel injections, bracing, icing, as well as physical therapy. The final test was a genicular nerve block (the most painful thing I’ve ever had done without anesthesia).Klein dismissed every concern I had; ESPECIALLY my pain. I lost 7 months of my life due to his apathy and negligence.

15 years ago he HAD to do a total right knee replacement. I'm a RN my wife is a Pharmacist and neither of us ever met such a caring doctor. He explained everything. I was on high doses of opioids at the time and he had my pain management doc consult with the pain team at the hospital. The only pain I experienced was when the volunteer helped me into the car and slammed my hand in the door. I'm going to need a revision soon and will go anywhere and spend any amount of money to see Dr. Klein.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Klein and was immediately comfortable with him and his manner of care. He was very thorough when explaining the issue and how it could be be temporarily remedied with a minor outpatient procedure. Any joint may of course result in future surgeries however, my procedure went great, and i have had no issues with said knee since the surgery back in 2006! Love this guy!

Dr. Klein performed a revision of my left knee in June 2016. From the very first appointment, thru the surgery and follow up appointments he has been great. He has great bedside manner and shows compassion. He actually called me himself on a Saturday the day after I got discharged to see how I was feeling. He is very patient and candid in answering any questions I may have. I expected to be off work longer since this was a revision, but I'm going back to work in only two and a half months! ????
