Dr. Adam Ofer, MD

My first time interacting with this dr. was at St. Vincent's Hospital. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. I arrived in early labor, with contractions averaging 4 min apart. Once there, my contractions did space out slightly, so rather than keeping me there, they discharged me after telling me I was in false labor and sent me home. I made it very clear I disagreed with the decision and even signed on my discharge form that I did not agree. I found this doctor arrogant and rude. When I said if they discharged me I would not be coming back, he actually laughed and said where are you going to go? (I ended up going to Yale and delivered there as I was NOT in false labor). Same doctor really angered my partner, telling him he would send him home with a pair of gloves so he could deliver the baby himself. Maybe has the skills to deliver a baby, but made me feel extremely uncomfortable in the way he spoke with me. Neither he nor the PA in training were helpful. Choose ANOTHER!

Thorough in both the physical exam and also in obtaining my medical history and a clear understanding of my current health status, needs and questions. I came away from my new patient visit with a clear care plan and confidence that I was in great hands.

Dr. Ofer shows compassion and is highly-skilled. He invites your suggestions and seeks your input. He is able to take a complicated situation and explain it with ease and confidence. I highly recommend!

Dr. Ofer thinks outside the box and makes shared decisions tailored to the patient sitting in front of him. I don't actually know how he accomplishes this, but he always makes you feel like he has all the time in the world. Terrific physician.

Dr.Ofer is the kindest, knowledgeable most patient doctor. I lost all anxiety under his care. He reassured me throughout all my visits that everything was ok during my pregnancy. He also delivered my son safely I’m very grateful for him!

We moved to Wilton and I needed a new dentist, doctor, Obgyn etc. I was a new patient last year when I saw Dr. Ofer at the Westport office. I think he was recommended by a few mom friends. I usually postpone for as long as possible to get my annual exam because it’s downright uncomfortable no matter how nice or good your doctor is. Dr. Ofer is one of those few obgyns that I feel comfortable with. He’s calm, and he listens. I completely trust this doctor and feel he cares about the health of his patients. Highly recommend.

Dr. Ofer is a great Dr. And a very kind man. He has been my Gynecologist for about 20 years. He takes the time to know you and listen to anything that may be troubling you before he starts the exam. He puts you at ease and you feel he cares about your overall well-being. Many thanks for the compassion and years of care!

I was told he was such a nice doctor and ever one liked him, but I had a different first impression! He didn’t seem to be interested in what I was saying and took my complaints too lightly! You may hear similar symptoms every day but I’m not a doctor and I needed clarification. He didn’t seem to care me as a patient and shrugged me off! I asked him to spell the name of the over-the-counter drug he recommended and he asked me to write it down with my cell phone. I thought that was very annoying!

Quick, efficient, friendly, caring. Office staff good as well.

I would not recommend him. After a quick exam he told me he couldn't help me. He asked very few questions. He was dismissive of me and my medical problem.
