I seen Doctor De Ruijter for some years back in the 90's we will never forget get Him and His Excellent kind caring way of helping me. Top notch psychiatrist
Have never seen a specialist so dedicated to his field. Extremely knowledgeable clinically, as well as treating with psychotropic medications. Very respectful of all patients, even when they may be experiencing psychosis. I would take any negative reviews on here as a grudge or misunderstanding, because if you are his patient and something is wrong and you have a concern, he will literally take time out to call back the same day. If that is not conscientiousness, I don't know what is. Would highly recommend without a doubt, especially as the practice is taking new patients.

Saw me when I was inpatient. Brought 3 students into my room who whispered and wrote notes about me to each other. "Diagnosed" me with conversion disorder. I have a rare metabolic disorder that causes paralysis and weakness. The cure is potassium. If I'd believed him I'd still be having paralytic episodes. I'm not. None since I started treatment. Also he said he would return with a medication. He never did. Shame on you, Dr de Ruijter. I gave you a chance to apologize to me too, but you didn't bother. Arrogant and ignorant. The worst combination.

I can tell anyone of his deication to his patients. That he is extremly knowledgeable and a true gentle-man. How proud I am and fortunate to be his patient. I would recommend his services to anyone without hesitation.

Dr. DeRuijter is my husband's doctor. We have seen two other psychiatrists in the past, and there is no comparison. He is kind, understanding and listens! I have called the office several times, and he always returns the call that day. I cannot ask for better.
