Dr. Alan Hilibrand, MD

I had neurogenic claudication symptoms of tingling in my feet and numbness in my legs and pelvic area while walking a moderate distance or standing for a while. The MRI was not very good either. I was lucky to get an appointment to see Dr. Hilibrand at Rothman Institute. Dr. Hilibrand took time to go thru my MRI as well as X-rays and prescribed me 6 weeks of Physical therapy diagnosing my condition as Spinal Stenosis with Claudication because of degenerative Spondy. He would consider Surgery if there is not 50% improvement in my symptoms. I could walk a mile and a half on a treadmill in 30 minutes without holding onto anything at the end of my physical therapy. I had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Hilibrand who took time to evaluate my progress. I was advised to do home exercises and discharged without any restrictions and without a need for surgery. I applaud his expertise that resulted in a simple solution to my otherwise complex situation.

World-Class surgeon and doctor! After a serious MVA, eventually I ended up seeing Dr. Hilibrand to interpret diagnostics and tell me what was going on with my injuries. He had the best mannerisms, common sense, and knowledge to explain the severity of my spinal injury, the options that I had, and the direction in which to preserve my spine for the rest of my life. I put my life in his hands and he amazingly fixed my compressed spinal cord, alleviating and reducing many of my severe pain problems as though I was being shocked to near death. I've been a patient of Dr. Alan S. Hilibrand since 2010 and had 3 surgeries performed by him. The first was in 11/2011, the second in 6/2018, and the third being 8/2023. He explained in precise detail my condition and why surgery was required. He went over all aspects of the surgery, how he would be performing it, and what the recovery process would entail. He explained the risks factors involved, but due to my health condition and his expertise, I prayed not to have any problems. He took the time to talk to my family and I. He also listen to us. I'm very grateful to him for performing 3 SUCCESSFUL surgeries on me with minimal scarring and NO COMPLICATIONS. He makes me feel like he really cares about me. I'm truly blessed to have him as my Orthopedic Doctor and my Surgeon. He's very polite, respectful and knowledgeable. I thank God for blessing me with Dr. Hilibrand, a man of his calibre. I understand his reason for not recommending surgery but he could have had much betterbedside manner He left me crying and is sending me for therapy again for all of the good that will do Basically told me to live like not being able to walk

Dr. Hilibrand performed major corrective scoliosis surgery on me 10 years ago and it has made all the difference in my life!
