Dr. Alan Mendelsohn, MD

Not a good experience, either with him, his staff, or the optician. Appointment was on time, staff was nice, but doc spends minimal time with you himself, and constantly promotes cataract surgery and VERY expensive alternate lenses that are priced higher there than anywhere else.

Dr.Mendelsohn is one of the most compassionate physicians my husband and I have met in years! He made me so Informed about every step leading up to my recent cataract surgery and Lazer eye correction . His staff is so helpful and understanding. We would recommend his practice to all who need eye care with no reservation. If I could give 10 stars I would. He is respected by all at one day surgery center at Penbrooke Pines where I had both procedures. Everyone there were so supportive. I have very high standards for excellent quality of care for both of us !

If you are looking for a doctor with exemplary bedside manners-look no further! Dr. Mendelsohn epitomizes what I seek in a physician: patient focused care; coupled with understanding and reassurance of optimal health care and follow up! I ALWAYS leave feeling assured that my health care needs were met/or exceeded! The office staff including Jasmine, is always caring, courteous and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Mendelsohn!

I had cataract surgery at the beginning of 2022 at the age of 68. I paid Dr. Mendelsohn $8,030. I also paid the Outpatient Center $4,659. Out of pocket cost: $12,689. While I wore glasses before surgery, my vision was good & I had no limitations. I did not have “bad” cataracts but was told that people no longer wait until they are bad. Since the surgery, I can no longer drive at night. I am completely blinded by glare from oncoming cars. I can no longer socialize in the evening unless I take an Uber or someone picks me up. Dr. Mendelsohn tried to resolve this issue by prescribing different eye drops. None helped. I always thought cataract surgery helped decrease glare. In my case, glare makes it impossible for me to see. There could be 2 cars coming in my direction and it looks like 50. They are now dunning me to pay an additional $50 for something insurance didn't cover. I asked them to delete this from my account. The result: I received another demand for $$.

Couldn’t have been a more pleasant experience. I went in with some apprehension due to a visual disturbance but made to feel at ease. Remarkable competence of both Dr M and his team was apparent from the start.

Do yourself a favor,if you are thinking about having cataract surgery and a new lens implanted Dr Mendelsohn and his staff is the place to go. I had my right eye operated on at a different facility and it was a madhouse the appointment time came and went and was shuffled around from person to person. Dr Mendelsohn and his staff are one on one with their patients and appointment times are to the minute. I had the pan optix multi focal lens put in which i wasn't even offered at the other facility and I'm already seeing better in my left eye than my right and he said it will continue to get better. Thank you so much Dr Mendelsohn and your staff for such a pleasant experience.

I didn’t have to wait too long to be seen and the staff and doctor explained to me very thoroughly what they were doing and why. They also gave me some recommendations so I can see better than with my current prescription eyeglasses.

Very nice modern office. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Mendelsohn is thorough and takes his time explaining the results of the exams. I had cataract surgery in both eyes and had lenses implanted. The surgery was an outpatient procedure. My vision is perfect, I no longer need bifocals and I can drive at night again. This doctor, the office and the surgery are highly recommended.

I found Dr. Mendelsohn at the time when I needed someone to have cataract surgery. He is a great doctor both professionally, and as a person. The staff at the office is excellent. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Excellent service from beginning to end. The staff is caring, and a pleasure to deal with. I can’t begin to say enough wonderful things about Dr Mendelsohn. He is everything and more that a patient wants from their doctor. Now he has spoiled me, I want every doctor I visit to be is good as he is. I would very highly recommend him to anyone.

Received a bill for an appointment I did not make and was not present for. Called the billing service and was told it would be rectified, still received another bill for a "SERIOUSLY PAST DUE!" amount that I did not owe in the first place. No response from the billing department after second call and message. This is a hassle. Intentional fraud?

Dr Mendelsohn gave a thorough examination and immediately was able to diagnosis my problem. Within one day of taking the medication, my eyes feel great. I will follow his regimen and will look forward to return for my follow up to thank him. Dr Mendelsohn is kind and patient. Great staff support in office!

Tried to make an appointment... girl said she couldn't find us... we've been there several times... and didn't seem interested in making an appointment. Will look for another office.

Dr. Mendelsohn has been my ophthalmologist for many years. He is an excellent, kind and caring physician. He always explains things in a thorough and understandable manner. As a physican, I can tell you that Dr. Mendelsohn is a doctor's doctor. The office runs smoothly, the techs are knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Mendelsohn is thorough, friendly and very conservative which is a great surgical quality. He explains everything so it's unlikely you will leave the office and realized you forgot to ask your pertinent questions. Overall, a great experience. Have been a patient of the practice for the last 25 years.

Dr. Mendelsohn is phenomenal! I've been wearing glasses for almost 35 years, so routine annual exams are a must. Dr. Mendelsohn diagnosed me with Pinguecula. He educated me on the diagnosis and turned something that was terrifying into something I can now manage. His combined knowledge with exceptional communication skills is second to none. After my complete eye exam - new glasses and contacts, I am seeing better than I have in years! I highly recommend eye surgeons & consultants.

Dr. Mendelson provided a very competent and timely service. He did a very thorough exam and gave me very clear and detailed explanation. Moreover, he responded very quickly when later I texted him with a couple of questions concerning my treatment.

I am a long-time patient of this practice. As a diabetic I have annual eye exams (beyond routine refractions). Dr. Mendelsohn takes time to explain the exam's findings and makes suggestions on eye heath maintenance. His medical staff is competent; his office staff efficient.
