My child saw Dr. Hergenroeder and doctor suggested that my husband and I might be underfeeding my teen on purpose. Fatigue was off the charts. Sleeping an excessive amount each night and into the day. Solution? Cut out all naps during the day and sleeping pattern would normalize. A sleep study had already shown no REM sleep. Overall, very unhelpful and unpleasant interactions. An endocrinologist later identified and treated the underlying condition correctly.

Dr Hergenroeder essentially blamed my 12 year old for their eating disorder and significantly elevated their anxiety by threatening 4-6 weeks of hospitalization if the didn't simply "choose" to eat. He completely ignored the mental aspects of the condition.
