Dr. Alec Goldenberg, MD

Dr Goldenberg is lovely but his office and the way it is run is completely inept. They don't return calls or emails and if you somehow you get someone on the phone - they are USELESS because they lie. One time, I got a human - who told me to email all the info for a billing problem I was having with Quest Diagnostics (they never responded and when I tried calling back they didn't know what I was talking about). The other time I got a human in their billing dept - they said that all Quest billing questions are not their problem - call them. Quest keeps telling me - it is my Drs office's problem, if they order the tests - they need to back up why they ordered the tests in order for insurance to cover them. But the Drs office REFUSE to answer the many phone calls, emails, faxes, letters, etc from either Quest, my insurance co or me. And NOW I'm out over $1500. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE - FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR who understands the 21st Century and cares about their patients!

Dr Goldenberg is thoughtful, patient and extremely thorough in his patient care. He does not give up until he finds the right treatment plan.

Dr. Goldenberg is very kind and his bedside manner is great. Unfortunately, his billing staff is a nightmare. Christina is rude - threatened to send me into collections when I didn't even know there was an outstanding bill as he is in my network. I spoke with two other people who seemed willing to help solve my problem, but they are now no longer with the practice. After speaking with the insurance, the billing was done incorrectly and now it is impossible to get someone to call me back to solve the problem. I will not be returning because this has been going on for a year at this point with no hopes at resolve.

Dr Goldenberg is a God send doctor, if I am healthy and making future plans it is because of God and him, I trust him with my life, thank you doctor!!!! Also I have to say that he has a wonderful staff, Tracy and Pauline has been there for me also and they are very caring and loving nurses, thank you. I am having my treatment and I feel so comfortable that I often forget that I am at the doctor office ??, great staff!!! Thank you Chris, Andrew, you do a great job!, Debbie and john thanks for my appts, Christina, thank you for helping me get my medicines ??, you are the best!!!, Christina has helped me to deal with my insurance and she is really hands on, she never gives up. Dr. Goldenberg was recommended to me by my close friend and doctor Ruth Oratz. I believe he is the best doctor in the field of hematology and oncology. He has tremendous experience and judgement, and provides reassuring guidance with a deep understanding of the patient. I am very grateful to have been under Dr. Goldenberg's care for many years.

Dr. Goldenberg and his caring group offer a level of care that is very rare in NYC. He offers exceedingly knowledgeable care on par with the big cancer hospitals in a positive, comfortable setting. In the middle of a very stressful time, instead of spending time waiting for my doctor to get back to me, Dr. Goldenberg has been incredibly responsive and helpful throughout.

Dr. Goldenberg possesses all the qualities one should want in their doctor. He's smart; he's a true scientist; and he is a compassionate doctor -- besides being a lovely person. He thinks before he treats; he does not simply apply protocols. He considers the unique circumstances of each of his patients. I know that his colleagues also have great respect for him. Every time I have mentioned his name to another specialist, they only have wonderful things to say about him. I count myself as so fortunate to have been referred to him, and to have him as my treating doctor.

I've been a patient of Dr. Goldenberg for many years. He's a very smart, caring, through professional. He takes his time and follows up with his patients. I have reccomended him to others who were equally impressed and satisfied!

Dr Goldenberg is dedicated to his craft. His low key office makes you feel very comfortable and and not overwheling. And the staff is very kind.

Dr. Goldenberg is an excellent, top-notch physician; he literally saved my life. I have been his patient since 2007, and currently continue under his expert care. Dr. Goldenberg has given me both more time and well-being, and now that I am a newly minted grandmother, I am more profoundly grateful than I ever could have imagined.

I met Dr. Goldenberg in 1994 after surviving an internal bleed and surgery for non-Hodgins Lymphoma tumor in my stomach. He was thoughtful and kind as he explained his proposed treatment and approach to my after-care. I have the upmost confidence in his medical decisions, recommendations and emotional support. I continue to see him with his on-going surveillance of me, a 25+ year Cancer survivor.

I still vividly remember Dr. Goldenberg's words to me when he reviewed my suddenly haywire blood results with me: "This could be caused by a couple of things. Either way, we're going to fix it." That supportive approach colored my own outlook into a confidence that helped me tolerate a few months of physical debilitation until, wonder of wonders, it all got fixed. I imagine that Dr. Goldenberg has other patients whose prognosis is not so rosy as mine was, and I further imagine that his compassion supports them in a way that they might not find elsewhere. I also have to add that the entire staff, from the phlebotomists, to the receptionists, to nurses and assistants are all remarkably attentive - When I walk in the door I feel like I am among friends.

Dr Goldenberg is brilliant professional and caring at what he does ,He first diagnosed me almost ten years ago, when others were unable too , I have so much to write but want to keep it concise, he and his staff are extremally caring they ,have always been t available when issues arose, they worked out any insurance issues and most importantly when a newer better and more convenient medication became available they suggested and implemented it I am eternally grateful to him and his staff for all that they have done

Dr. Goldenberg has treated me, more than ten years for leukemia and anemia. My CLL is in remission and he closely monitors my anemia. When I had to undergo Open Heart Surgery, Dr. Goldenberg was very involved - monitoring, constantly following up with the surgeon and other physicians. When necessary, he has referred me to the very best physicians in infectious disease, nephrology, gastroenterology and rheumatology. Dr. Goldenberg continues to be concerned with all of my medical conditions outside of oncology/hematology. He looks at and treats the patient in entirety, looking at the total “picture” as very few providers do. Dr. Goldenberg is highly respected by all of his colleagues. I do not know what I would do without him.

Dr Goldenberg continues to take excellent care of me and I highly recommend his services. He takes the time to explain things and helps ensure ongoing and high quality monitoring and care. He is supported by a great and caring team.

For the past 3 years I have been very fortunate to be under the exceptional care of Dr Goldenberg. I was dealing with an aggressive condition that required a physician who could properly diagnose the situation and had the knowledge & expertise to effectively treat me. I found Dr Goldenberg not only clinically superior but sensitive & understanding. In fact, all the people in his practice are excellent. On a scale of 1-10..Dr Goldenberg is a 15!

I have nothing but gratitude and praise for Dr. Alec Goldenberg and his entire staff including nurses, phlebotomists, administrative staff, etc. Dr. Goldenberg is not only an outstanding oncologist/hematologist, he's an outstanding person who cares for his patients like none I've ever seen. Whenever I needed a response, he either called me back personally or had someone from his outstanding staff call me, whether it be one of the nurses or administrative staff all with speed, patience and concern. Dr. Goldenberg treated my wife for Multiple Myeloma for 16 years from 1997 to 2013 and when I contracted a blood cancer, he was the first one I called in 2018. I've been his patient ever since. I have total trust and faith in him and his entire staff.

Dr Goldenberg is amazing and has given me excellent care, explained everything I was going through and continues to guide my treatment and recovery. An amazingly smart and compassionate doctor. His nurse Tracy is super responsive , knowledgeable answers all questions or gets the answers and has made my journey back to health a good process and outcome. Monica who is in the admin and billing depth has been a lifesaver for me. She and the team have handled all of my insurance approvals for procedures making a difficult time so much better. She is so responsive and helpful. All of my prescription refills and appointments she makes sure are handled and that I am taken care of perfectly.
