Impulsive, procedure & bad decisions Nice Dr, THOUGH he should have never removed my 4 inch tumor & should have been biopsied or further investigation to eliminate cancer diagnosis, before he impulsively removed it. It ended up being stage three rectal cancer, I'm sure this procedure added to this diagnosis and our insurance was never charged so you have to wonder about that. Please do further investigation before you move forward with this Dr, get a second opinion as he was nothing but a liability in my experience. During the procedure, l also had a seizure, when I mentioned to him if he thought it was a seizure, he said "no it was not a seizure, you had a coughing fit, your face became as red as your hair so we gave you something" never told me what that something was. Also we experienced zero follow up When I ask him questions he would be dismissive, Saturday after procedure, I had another seizure so then lost my license. A doctor doesn't know that was a seizure is also a problem this procedure became irrelevant as l needed a 10 inch resection anyway

The man almost killed my husband. Not to mention when he called about a problem (one of many) his staff answered the phone and thought they had hung up n began to speak so poorly of me and my husband the patient. This guy is a hack job. He actually decided not to do a procedure on a pseudo cyst stating Drs. Need a day off too. Despicable. Thank God we got into Penn, they saved his life. They did EVERYTHING that Jefferson didn't!

High level of expertise
Dr. Schlachterman has a high level of expertise in a minimally invasive procedure called, P.O.E.M., for swallowing disorders. In addition he is an excellent communicator and very personable. I appreciated the time he took with me as a patient and value his expertise and recommendations. I would definitely recommend him as a top gastroenterologist!
