Dr. Alexandra Callan, MD

Dr. Callan is a Genius! My mother came in for a second opinion after being told her only option was leg amputation. Dr. Callan had a alternative course of treatment and completed a grueling 8+ hr surgery and saved her leg. Her recovery is going great and we owe it to the wisdom, skill and talent of this brilliant women. I will forever be grateful to her and the team at UT southwestern.

I was dissatisfied with dr callan’s approach. I was told I was in need of knee replacement but she suggested I wait as long as possible. But when I decided I wanted it done she reversed her opinion and would not keep me as a patient. I believe my rheumatological history biased her decision and the likelihood of a perfect outcome for her resume was considered. I do not believe a doctor has the right to decide timing. I was told I need a replacement, not that I would in the future.

Dr. Callan is such a wonderful doctor. She loves her job, love her patient, always smiling and always encouraging and caring. Only listening to her, you start seeing whatever you are suffering from being treated. She is really God send to me. My leg which was almost to be cut off was being treated or restored by her. I recommend her 100% to patients who need surgery (Orthopedic). Doctor, you will always be in my memory and your care for me will never go in veil. Thanks very much for what you have done in my life.

Dr. Callan was absolutely awesome in dealing with my elderly mother. She listened at length to her concerns, explained the issue in an easy to understand way and provided options for her to decide. I was totally impressed with her caring and bedside manner.

Dr Callan is a very caring doctor and person Dr Callan’s bed side manner is great. She explains the treatment plan where you can understand it. Answers all questions before moving forward. After my surgery with Dr Callan she come to see me everyday to check on me and see how I was progressing. I have been through many surgeries and I have never had a Dr take the time out of their day the way Dr Callan has to make sure all was going well. Dr Callan is a great surgeon and a great person.
