Dr. Alf Bergman, MD

The office staff are terrible, which is unacceptable for a mental health care provider. I have repeatedly found it difficult if not impossible to reach anyone. Today, for instance, I needed to touch base with the office regarding a prescription refill. I have called 10 times during normal business hours with no answer, so I am left hoping they'll check the answering machine when they won't even answer the phone in the first place. I have no idea why I can't just email things like this rather than repeatedly waste time trying to make a phone call during a work day. Edit: Dr. Bergman often did not listen well to me and refused to diagnose me with PTSD (that I was later immediately diagnosed with by my next provider) because he didn't want me getting a certain medication.

Dr. Bergman is great, very kind and attentive, thorough, and explains things well. However, his office is horrible. Refilling meds is a chore (and a week in advance?!). They haven't answered their phone for me in over 6 months, it always goes to a very long voicemail after a minute, and if you don't catch the callback then you usually have to wait til the next day. The answering service was cancelled, I've never heard of a doctor doing that. Also, the voicemail and website do not mention what holidays or "administrative days" they're closed, and since they don't answer the phone, who knows?! He's a great doctor but the business model is garbage.

Office staff needs replaced. They make you feel as though you are working for them, as though you were bothering them.

All of the office staff needs to be replaced. They are more than rude. When you're going to a doctor such as this, I should not be in tears every time I hang up the phone. I have been going to Dr. Bergman for over 6 years now and I just cannot take it any more.

I'm so thankful that doctor Bergman brought TMS to Cleveland. He is smart and kind. The office staff are great : Ebony, Robin and Leeisha.

This has been the worst experience with a medical provider I have ever encountered. Office staff did not get info from prior doctor (I sent them release of info 4-6 weeks prior to appt); Dr B said I was misdiagnosed within 15 mins of meeting me; the office staff was completely unhelpful in getting the required authorizations so my prescription could be filled. I went over a week without medication. Completely unprofessional -staff does not up call to provide status updates.

Dr. Bergman is personable, knowledgeable and takes the time to recommend the best treatment possible to take care of his patients. My only issue at all was the difficulty scheduling an initial appointment with his office during the busy holiday season. However, when I did get an appointment scheduled that had to be canceled because of snow, I was quickly given a makeup appointment on a weekend and given excellent care. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Bergman to any friends or family.

I would recommend Dr. Bergman to anyone having personal problems. He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever met

Dr. Bergman is fantastic! I have been seeing him for well over two years now. He always has your best interest in mind. He also guided me through my pregnancy while taking meds. However, I am glad to see that I am not the only one that dislikes some his staff. One of the receptionists is just absolutely nasty. I am made to feel like I am inconveniencing her when I call or go in. I put up with it because Dr. Bergman is just that fantastic though. Don't let her hinder your decision.

Office staff needs to be fired. Not friendly with patients.
